Tasty Delights--Berry Pie w/ Homemade Crust

Tasty Delights and Dazzling Disasters is all about playing in the kitchen and having some fun.

I'll share my delights or my disasters. Yall feel free to join in and create your own posts, share your favorite recipes, what have you.

Alright so this isn't one I'd normally do. It falls into my oh hell no category.
Fruit does not belong in desserts.

But as part of the great freezer snafu when I left my freezer door open overnight I had a lot of fruit to use (I usually use it for smoothies) and had no idea what to do with all those blasted berries so landed on pie.

Berries and a variety of crust making supplies.
Berries can be fresh, frozen or thawed.

I like to make my own crust. It's actually pretty easy just takes a little time to firm up after making it.
But it tastes SO much better than store bought. This is also the crust I use for quiche.

There's not too much to this pie. Some lightly sweetened and thickened berries and pie crusts.
Once your berries are prepared roll out your pie crusts and fill.

You can do your crust however you'd like but the edges do need to be crimped in some way or berry juice will end up everywhere.
Once edges are crimped cut in a couple air vents then bake!

Okay. This wasn't BAD but it's not my favorite but that has more to do with my personal quirks. lol
I'm just not a fruit in dessert kinda girl though if need be I can deal.

What about you? Do you like berry pie?
Have a favorite go to pie you just adore?
