3.5 stars-- Cooper's Charm (Love at the Resort #1) by Lori Foster

Note: I accidentally deleted 6 months of the blog so this is a repost. All comments on the original posts were unfortunately lost. Sorry!

Lori Foster is always a good time. Cooper's Charm was all kinds of adorable and a lot of fun, too.
The Gist: It turns out an RV Resort is the perfect place to escape when you need to lick your wounds. Some hard work, a beautiful setting, sexy coworkers? Yeah, it'll do just fine for now.

All the Good Bits
  • Cooper and Phoenix are nice people. Cooper's a stand up reliable guy you can easily turn to for help (he owns the resort). Phoenix is resilient and has a kind heart (and the new gardener).
  • Their romance was a bit slow going since they both have issues to work through-- him the loss of his wife, her a robbery/assault. It was sweet and steady. And had a good bit of heat once things got rolling.
  • There was a secondary romance as well when Phoenix's sister Ridley moves to the resort and decides to give the scuba instructor, Baxter, a run for his money. They were a bit more fiery and full of games.
  • I loved the setting-- An RV resort. It was so fun! The guests, the staff. Dealing with mother nature, events, and just work. It was different and seriously made me want to spend the weekend there hanging out with everyone.
  • Yes, there is a puppy! And she's amazingly adorable.
My only "complaint" was the bit of suspense thrown in that was pretty easy to figure out.

All in all, Cooper's Charm was a pretty fun read. While the storyline wasn't the most captivating read from Foster it was entertaining and I'll definitely read the next in the series just to spend time with the staff who are all pretty dang fantastic.

Before the burglary that shattered her confidence, Phoenix Rose had a fiancĂ©, a successful store and a busy, happy existence. After months spent adrift, she takes a job at the lakeside resort of Cooper’s Charm. Surrounded by beautiful scenery, friendly colleagues and a charismatic, widowed boss, Phoenix is slowly inching her way back into the world.

Visiting Cooper’s Charm to check up on her little sister, Ridley Rose impulsively agrees to fill in as housekeeper. Still reeling from an ego-bruising divorce, she finds satisfaction in a job well done—and in the attention of the resort’s handsome scuba instructor.

For Phoenix and Ridley, Cooper’s Charm is supposed to be merely temporary. But this detour may lead to the place they most need to be, where the future is as satisfying as it is surprising…
