[memes] Authors That Save Me From Book Slumps! + my week in books

Note: I accidentally deleted 6 months of the blog so this is a repost. All comments on the original posts were unfortunately lost. Sorry!

I wanted to meme. And only had one weekly post to do it. So there's a whole lotta memeage happening in this post. You might have to scroll down a bit to get the one you're looking for. 😸

Whew. It was hot and humid this week but we're surviving!

Not too much went on but one awesome thing... Cleo got the all clear from her surgeon! He walked in and went whoa! What are you doing to her? She looks amazing! So 2 months, 1 day and like 23 minutes post open chest surgery...she's good! No more checkups or procedures unless something dramatic happens. Relief yall. Relief.

Mattie, one of my ferals that after 8 years decided he loves me went in for a vet visit, too. He did awesome with his skeerdy cat self. Even got his nails trimmed.

I did the food pantry and taught another couponing class.

Oh and had another author encounter which cracked me up. She got in a huff because I won't pay 5.99 for an ebook and think it's ridiculous to be priced that high (wasn't even talking about her books lol). So she left my group, blocked and unfriended me. Yall I laughed so hard especially since she claimed right before she wasn't taking it personally. LOL Authors are nuts. Lord love em.

A slowish reader week. Some audiobooks that were fun. Absolutely no new books! Not for review or purchase! Just borrowed from KU/the library.
Yay me! lol

Only two! But both audiobooks. I just wasn't in the ebook mood this week.

A relisten on Blazing Summer. It was fun. And a decent read with the Bella Andre. I loved the narration. The story itself was just okay. Entertaining but just okay.

Deadly Brew... I loved the first 2 on audio. This one isn't on audio so doing ebook and struggling with it. I just want to yell hypocrite!!!! at all the characters who eat meat then bitch about a hunting ranch. So it's slow going.

Say You're Sorry is real good so far. New to me author. Heroine is investigating the murder of her babysitter and trying to clear a neighbor kid who is accused of the murder.

Top Five:  Authors That Pull Me Out of a Reading Slump

Thankfully I don't hit reading slumps TOO often. More often I've had a string of sucky books and need a palate cleanse. These ladies are my go to authors. They rarely disappoint and even when they do they're still pretty good. lol

Shalvis-- Just light, sexy romances, amazing friendships/families

Regnery-- Unique characters, easy make you feel good romances

Yates-- Characters that are delightfully fucked up and mending, great families, friends, cowboys.

Krentz/Quick-- Nice mysteries with a bit of romance, humor, best deflowering scenes in her historicals

Loren-- the most excellent kinky make-you-squirm goodness

Question: Do you follow other book blogs and if so, who are your top 3 bloggers?
A: LOL yes this is basically last week's Top Ten. Oh, tons. I follow 150+ blogs. And for all different reasons. I'm going with the ones I've known since nearly the beginning.

Jess from Secret Files of Fairday Morrow (Jan 1, 2012)
Jess was actually my very first follower! And commenter. On day one! How cool is that? She co-writes a series :)
Sophia at Delighted Reader (Feb 12, 2012)
Sophia came along from a meme I joined in on. She's one I visit most often these days. We love a lot of the same books but have some nice differences, too, which keeps things interesting. She's an awesome blogger AND also a new author.
Mary at Dark Thoughts (she posts other things besides books as well) (Feb 14, 2012)
Mary came along not too long after via a blog hop I participated in. She's an animal person and had the cutest rats and now a darling quirky pup. She doesn't blog about books daily but works them in to her other posts on a regular basis.
