Curvy girl Bethany Mills can't believe her good fortune when her new neighbor turns out to be devastatingly hot. But someone that gorgeous could never fall for someone like her…could he? A charming personality and appreciation for sappy music aren't the only things Maximilian Pearce is hiding, and just when Bethany thinks she might get her very own happily ever after, a shocking revelation forces her to make a heartbreaking choice.
Type: Paranormal Romance--Shifters (bears), Novella
Heat: 3 out of 5
Rating: 3 out of 5
I liked the characters...Bethany--who is a plus sized chickie with some self esteem issues but who grows into her own and gets nice and bold as the novella goes along and Max who is a giant of a werebear, likes his women with some curves on them and is all kinds of sexy and has a gorgeous werebear sized cock to back it up. I mean, really, how can a girl resist that? I did find Bethany and her insecurity a little annoying at times and she was a bit gullible listening to the wrong person along the way but overall they were both pretty decent.
The novella is basically her getting a kick in the butt over her insecurities and the two getting together. Add in a little family drama, some crazy friends and a little werebear jealousy there at the end and it made for a nice little distraction It's not one that's going to rock the shifter world but if you're jonesing for some werebear lovin' it's good for the job.
***note on the price--I think the claim that it's 128 pages was a bit of a stretch so keep that in mind when purchasing. I'd say this is a 99cent buy not a 2.99 read. It took me maybe an hour to get through and I don't read quite that fast. So one to wishlist and wait for a sale in my opinion***
