#AFTH2014 w/ Jennifer Ashley-- it's all about Christmas... + giveaway

Ooo yall there's a lot of awesome on the blog today. Jennifer Ashley is here with some warm fuzzies for Christmas to get yall ready for tomorrow. If yall haven't read her...gah. *shakes head* It is a must. She writes one of the best shifter series--Shifters Unbound--with wolves, bears, kittehs. And she does some stellar historical romances that I've just started reading this year and that are just delightful. Total insta buy author for me. Anywho. I'm gonna hand things over to Jennifer. Yall check it out and leave her some comment love!  ~Anna

1. Lots of sunshine and great weather! I live in the desert, so December means sunny days and no more horrible summer heat! If it’s nice enough, we have Christmas dinner on the patio.

2. Hiking my favorite trail to the palo verde tree decorated for Christmas every year. Someone always puts a Santa hat on a cactus.

3. Luminarias (candles in paper bags; also called farolitos). The desert botanical garden lines their walks with these lovely glowing lights, a beautiful nighttime stroll.

4. It’s finally cold enough for hot chocolate.

5. Decorating! My husband decorates the front yard with lights. I buy one Christmas ornament in early December to get me in the mood, then we get out the tree and cover it with lights and decorations.

6. Sour cream cinnamon pecan poundcake from my favorite bakery (they only have it in December).

7. Cooking and baking. For Christmas I usually make Mexican food—tamales, enchiladas, and other goodies. I also make a special cake (different each year) for dessert on Christmas Day.

8. Driving around, looking at other people’s Christmas lights. Amazing displays.

9. Christmas Eve at my mom’s house, opening gifts. Christmas Day at our house, opening more gifts (I like gifts).

10. Spending time with people I care about, family and friends, pets too! Everything else can go, as long as I have time with the people I love.

Have a great Christmas!

The Mackenzies gather for a clan Christmas and New Year's in Scotland. In the chaos of preparations for the celebration--the first of Hart and Eleanor's married life--one of Ian's Ming bowls gets broken, and the family scrambles to save the day. Daniel busily runs a betting ring for everything from the time Eleanor's baby will arrive to whether Mac's former-pugilist valet can win a boxing match to who will be the first of the many guests to be caught under the mistletoe. Ian begins a new obsession, and Beth fears the loss of one of his precious bowls has made him withdraw once more into his private world.
