Happy Holidays Friends!

Can you believe it's almost the big day?!? I'm just barely done with my shopping. UGH. And haven't even started wrapping. OY! But do you know why? Do you know who's to blame?

The Cavanaugh Brothers. That's who.

Well, here's two of them anyway. Deac and James. They invade my mind, and force their stories upon me. I know, I know. Poor me. Hot, sexy, possessive cowboys for Christmas.. But I'm not getting anything done.

So today it's Cole is knocking on the door of my mind. Well... kicking it down actually. After all, the guy is a fighter as well as a cowboy. Here is a little snippet, if you're looking for proof!
“Ready for me to go back to my bed?” she asked, her chest a little tight.

“This is your bed, Doc.”

The husky way he said it made her clear her throat. “You know what I mean.”

“Yeah, I do. And no, I’m not.”

Her heart jumped into her throat. “Why?”

He shifted his head on the pillow. Apart from his nearly skull-shaved blond hair, he was all dark eyes, hard cheekbones, a night’s growth of beard around lips so full and dangerous and kissable they should come with a Warning! High Voltage! sign.

“Let’s just say I’m scared to be alone,” he said.

“Is that the truth?” she whispered back.

“No,” he returned with a serious look. “But can we just say it?”

See what I'm saying? And then there's this one!!
And then his mouth was on hers and she forgot the world outside his car even existed. Forgot anything she’d thought before or questioned. His kiss took her, captured her, owned her. Made her knees weak. He tasted like the sugary mint Maria and placed on the table with a copy of his credit card receipt. It was delicious. He was delicious. She wanted to crawl up on his lap, wrap her legs around his waist and run her hands into his hair. And before she could stop herself, think or reason, she did exactly that.

So basically, I'm never going to get those presents under the tree or those stockings filled. But hey, I'll have the 4th Cavanaugh book, BONDED ready to go after the holidays:) Wait a sec... maybe if I give the boys away as a prezzie, I'll be able to focus better?!?!? ... it's worth a shot, right?

Okay here goes:

For years, James Cavanaugh has traveled the world as a horse whisperer, but even the millions he’s earned hasn’t healed the pain he hides behind his stoic exterior. Forced to tackle old demons at the ranch, James throws himself into work to avoid his true feelings. Until he meets a woman who shakes the foundations of his well-built walls…

Sheridan O’Neil’s quiet confidence has served her well, except when it comes to romance. Tired of rejection, she’s ready to swear off men. But after being rescued from a horse stampede by the most beautiful cowboy she’s ever met, her resolve wavers. Only, as Sheridan uncovers James’s belief that no woman is safe with him, she wonders if such a wounded man could ever give in to love, or if some hearts are too broken to be healed…

Unlike many of my peers in the writing world, I wasn’t a writer or a reader until I left high school. During my youth I was into theater, song and dance, commercials and boys. I loved romance surely, but I had never read a romance novel until my late teens. With that said, I remember the day I did like it was a moment ago - my aunt gave me the Jude Deveraux novel, Knight in Shining Armor and I couldn’t put it down until the very last word. Then I went straight to the library and got another – then another until I’d read everything she’d ever written. After that, it was McNaught, Howard, Schone, Kleypas, and the Silhouette line, Desire. I instantly loved those emotional, sexy reads, so much so that I began to carve out ideas for my own stories, themes that were unique to me and moved me. The day I got the call telling me Desire wanted to buy Cinderella and the Playboy was the best day of my life. That is until I married my husband, and had my two beautiful children. But I must say, writing is much like motherhood – tough, grueling, surprising, delicious and for me, a dream come true.

I was born and raised in Minnesota. It’s where my love of all things green, wet and grown in the ground comes from. As you read above, before writing I was an actor, singer and dancer, specifically a BALLROOM dancer - an instructor and competitor as well. That work took me to many places like New York, Ohio and Wisconsin. I live in Los Angeles now, but I’m always thinking about greener pastures – literally.
