Damn, yall. Burn Down the Night was a damn good time! Max and Joan were insane and I enjoyed every second of their crazy ride. And I'm going on a quote frenzy because I can and I just needed to. NEEDED to. There were so many excellent little moments.

Okay so this first one. She's totally just blown up a bar and kidnapped a motorcycle club president. Yeah. lol
"Hey, Max," I said, reaching back to give him a shake. "How you doing? Rise and shine!"

"Fuck off," he groaned.

"And hello to you too. Do you know what year it is?"

"Let me sleep."

"Can't do that. I need you to answer some questions. Do you know what day it is?"

"Wednesday." Well, Thursday at this point.

"Do you know your name?"

"Max Daniels."

"My name?"

"Joan-the-crazy-fucking-bitch."

"Good enough. How are your ribs?"

"Hurts...to breathe."

I glanced in the rearview and saw him sprawled out back there, breathing shallowly. One hand pressed to his side. Under the blood his face was turning dark with bruises.

Those assholes.

"You kidnapping me?" he asked.

"Only a little."

Max and me, we did better in the shadows.

Joan was devious and twisted and my dick loved that shit.

"Try not to draw too much attention to yourselves." Her eyes glanced over Joan's body and then over to mine, covered in tattoos and bruises.

Me and Joan--we were a scene just breathing.

And I'm SO going to use this phrase one day. I really am.
"You clearly care. You're up to your eyeballs in giving a fuck."

"Get inside before I fuck you against this wall."

Yeeeeees.

Burn Down the Night (Everything I Left Unsaid #3)

Some days you just have to blow up a titty bar and kidnap a motorcycle club president who's been shot up and left to die. I mean, really. Some days that's just the only thing that's gonna get a girl through.

The gist is that Joan? Well, the girl's at her breaking point. She's fucking done playing nice. Her baby sister's been brainwashed and is living with a cult and she's going to do whatever the hell it takes to break her sister out and bring down the bad guy. Cue the aforementioned blowing up of a titty bar where the bad guy is hanging out. And then the kidnapping of a different bad guy who's her only link to the one holding her sister. A little kidnapping? Done! Joan and the law? Yeah she really gives no fucks at this point. Homeboy's gonna give her what she needs. If he has to be handcuffed to a bed for a few days before he caves in and helps her out? So be it!

Goodness. These two. They were seriously made for each other. They're both rather fucked up. They'll do whatever they have to do to get what they want/need. They're a little twisted up and broken but damn if they aren't intriguing and an irresistible force. And holy hot damn they are sexy as all get out, too.

Yeah. This one is erotic and all kinds of curl your toes delicious. There's a little girl on girl action in one scene but mostly it's just Joan and Max and the incredible catch-your-breath heat between them. That fucked up edge they both rock in daily life totally transfers into the bedroom and is oh so good.

The action...is interesting. There are a couple moments that'll get your gut churned up and palms sweating but a lot of it is Joan trying to persuade Max to help her contact the bad guy. Some unexpected twists make it even more fun.

All in all, if you haven't tried M O'keefe out yet it's a damn shame. You're missing out on some stunning reads that'll get your pulse pounding in all kinds of amazing ways. Edgy, erotic and darkly exciting. These are must reads.

The only thing that matters to me is rescuing my sister from the drug-cooking cult that once enslaved us both. I’ve run cons my whole life, and I’ll use my body to get whatever I need. Max Daniels is the last connection I have to that world, the one person reckless enough to get involved. Besides, now that his brothers have turned on him, he needs me too.

The deal was supposed to be simple: a place to hide in exchange for rescuing my sister. Now he’s my prisoner. Totally at my mercy. But I’m the one captivated. Enthralled. Doing everything he asks of me until I’m not sure who’s in control.

We both crave the heat. The more it hurts, the better. But what if Max wants a different life now, to leave the game . . . to love me? I thought I knew better than to get burned. Now I’m in too deep to pull away. And the crazy thing is . . . I don’t want to.
