Quote-tastic/Review-- the thrill of the journey -- Heated Pursuit by April Hunt

A new to me for today's Quote-tastic! A sexy security team, a determined heroine, the jungle with danger coming at them from all corners. Ah! Yes! lol

So this first quote. I always love when a character says something then is like oh damn! I did NOT just say that! ha!

It took a moment to interpret the shaking behind her shoulders as laughter. She turned in his embrace and punched his arm. "It's not funny!"

"Honey, if you can strong-arm a brood of Alpha operatives, you can sure as hell get your way with a crew of geriatric SEALs."

"Can I have my way with you?" Eyes wide, she slapped a hand to her mouth, but a string of giggles still escaped through her fingers. "I didn't mean...oh hell. That came out way wrong."

"I like the way it came out, and the answer is without a doubt, yes."

Aaaaand some sexy. Because, yeah, these two were rocking some steam.

"You're fucking perfect."

"Hardly," she scoffed. "But it's what I've been given."

Rafe kissed her again, making her breathless by the time he pulled away. A mischievous smirk kicked up his mouth. "And you're giving it to me. You have no idea how much I want it, Red. I want to toss you down on that bed and bury my cock into your body and never come out. I want to taste every inch of you. I want to explore you. All of you."

God, she wanted that, too. Her body was on fire for it. She rubbed her breasts against his still-covered chest and smirked at the rolling growl it pulled from his throat. "So what's stopping you?"

"The thrill of the journey."

Woo boy! *fans self* That cover! Goodness. Heated Pursuit? A sultry adventure through the Honduran jungle. Oh yes, it's a steamy good time.

Alright so the gist of it is that Penny has gone to Honduras looking for her niece who's been kidnapped. And manages to snag herself a whole alpha security team in the process. Hot dayum! Seems they have a similar mission. She just has to convince them to let her tag along, and, well, manage to keep her hands off the oh-so-sexy Rafe.

Rafe and Penny were fun. She's got that feisty determination going on, he's got the jaded growly alpha male thing happening. Together they steamed up pretty much every room they were in. The jungle, too. lol Yeah, the chemistry between them was thick. I liked how they worked together, too. Strong characters that were straight forward and honest.

I had a good time with Heated Pursuit but it did come across as a debut book. It's pretty typical rom-suspense and hit some cliches and kind of skimmed the surface of things but it was still pretty dang enjoyable. The characters and the group of people around them will so have me coming back for more. I really loved the team of operatives and their dynamic. Fast paced action, some steamy loving, some sass and growling, yep, good times.

Penny Kline didn't come to Honduras on a pleasure trip. She's here to rescue her kidnapped niece, the only family she's got left. What she didn't plan on was walking into a covert ops mission---or being wrapped up in the hard-muscled arms of Rafe Ortega. The cool-as-ice operative's touch may get her all hot and bothered, but no man can have a hold on her heart until her niece is home where she belongs.

Even in the tropics, Alpha Security operative Rafe can take down the bad guys without breaking a sweat. Hostage extractions. Clandestine missions. Those are the things he's been trained to handle. Relationships? Not so much. But one look at this strong, sexy redhead and he's seized by a fierce urge to protect her at all costs. Now Penny and Rafe will have to up their game because they're about to go into a master criminal's lair without backup, and the danger---and passion---is about to explode...
