Note: I accidentally deleted 6 months of the blog so this is a repost. All comments on the original posts were unfortunately lost. Sorry!
I wanted to meme. And only had one weekly post to do it. So there's a whole lotta memeage happening in this post. You might have to scroll down a bit to get the one you're looking for. 😸
G's feelings about not being properly worshiped this week. lol |
- I got a new laptop! My old one was having trouble staying charged and would suddenly die on me even when plugged in. Which made everything incredibly challenging. The new one is fine. It's a Dell Inspiron. We're getting to know each other still. lol Hopefully blogger-me will do better now that she has a reliable laptop!
- The food pantry was not fun. I ended up working alone this week and had a very entitled and difficult individual come in to use the pantry. After she left I went into the head people and told them to expect a complaint about me because I wouldn't let her have her way. Ah!
- The plants continue to live! And I've planted more! Eee! Hopefully I can keep it up. I'm having fun especially now that it's colder and bugs are disappearing.
- The herd is doing fairly well. Two are giving me issues and driving me up the wall. One won't pee in the litter box. One won't poo in the litter box. So they've been put on lockdown for a while because I just can't.
- Blog Ahead is still going I've gone from 29 scheduled to 45 scheduled. I didn't do too many this week so need to kick it up a notch the next 6 days.
A pretty good week with 4 full books and 1 DNF.
Ghostly Paws was fun! A bookstore owning heroine stumbling onto a dead librarian and cats that guard their humans and solve mysteries.
Charming/Tempting were entertaining fairytale retellings. Charming with a phone sex operator and one of her clients with a big secret. Tempting with a masquerade ball hook up turned knocked up and unable to find their mystery partner thing happening. The author seems to have disappeared a year ago, though.
The Safe Bet was good other than calling them Navy Seals *facepalm* But a damaged Marine, an event planner with a stalker, two anti-relationship individuals with a case of the lusts and trying to avoid jumping each other. lol
I started Married by Christmas today. It's interesting so far. Not sure what I think. A UK author so there are some editing quirks since I'm in the US that are an adjustment. And the heroine is extremely OCD and desperate to control everything.
I got SEAL's Honor for review and DNFd it by page 20 when it was obvious the author had no clue about the military and the heroine finding the hero was so far fetched and ridiculous. I was out. And won't be an author I try again.
I enjoyed book one so picked up Tempting for 99cents.
3 stars--Bluegrass State of Mind by Kathleen Brooks
4 stars-- Close to the Bone by Kendra Elliot
1 star-- Emergency Attraction by Samanthe Beck

Top Ten: Oh the Halloween Horrors. Or, pumpkins.
Ahh so. Turns out I don't read much Halloween-y type things. But I did have two on my read list. Deadly Brew and The Haunted Vagina. Yes. I've read The Haunted Vagina. Twice! It's..all kinds of special. lol My Review
And found a few that just looked fun.

Question: Recommend one horror novel for non-horror readers.
A: Well. I'm one of those non-horror readers. Ha! But I guess... The Haunted Vagina. Because really. With a title like that you need to read it. It's bizzaro fiction but I think it suits horror. I know I felt some horror at the things coming out of a hooha. lol
