The Wedding Vow (Save the Date #2) by Cara Connelly (@avonbooks)

Sexy billionaire Adam LeCroix has a mission: hunt down the sultry spitfire he blames for his troubles, demand her help, and exact revenge while he's at it. Maddie St. Clair will help him . . . or else.

Former prosecutor Maddie damn near nailed Adam for stealing, but the lucky bastard walked. Now, five years later, he's back, arrogant as ever, giving her an ultimatum—work for him to collect the insurance money, or she'll never work again.

Maddie's all about right and wrong. Adam's shades of gray. So when he uncovers the hot body under her hard-ass veneer and she finds he's a thief with a heart, can the law-and-order lawyer and the fast-and-loose felon put their prickly past behind them?

Oh Cara. She can write a fierce enemies to lovers romance and *giddy squee* it was SUCH a damn good time! The Wedding Vow...pits a former US prosecutor against the art thief she tried--unsuccessfully-- to put away 5 years earlier for stealing a multi-million dollar painting. And now...she's got to work for the bastard! helping him win an insurance battle after one of his paintings is stolen. Oh yes there's...he's more than ready to get his revenge on her for what she put him through years earlier. Hell of it is...he wants her too. And it was glorious!
She was driving him mad. He wanted to shake her. Berate her. And God help him, he wanted to fuck her.

I really enjoyed them both. Adam has pretty much everything going for him and is at the top of his game. He's cocky, powerful, sexy and charming as all get out though can really tweak a girl's nerves and under it all a pretty good guy even if he does have some things that...yeah...he's gotta work on. Can't say exactly what since it's rather spoilery but oh yeah I wanted to have a word or two with him over a secret he'd kept for years. But even still I kind of adored him and his cocky kinda naughty/infuriating self.
"She's shrimpy, but she's got a fuckload of attitude."
And Maddie. Whewboy. She's one tough chickie. She's small but feisty and a badass lawyer who's not willing to take anything laying down. She's stubborn to a fault sometimes and petrified of love--with good reason. But she loves and cares for the few people in her life passionately. I liked her even though I didn't always quite understand her thought processes and now and again wanted to shake her a bit over some of the things she laid on Adam.

Things are definitely passionate between them. When they're fighting, working, loving. They go into everything full force and head on. And damn it is HOT! I loved watching all of their clashes and the snark and humor that mixed in as they were forced to deal with each other. These two just undo each other and it was so fun to watch happen. They really were great for each other despite their very different views and sides on some things.

There's some fabulous humor mixed in with the grrr-arrgs they throw at each other. Funny bits like not fighting in front of the dog (I totally fell for them right there) or his "proper" employees better on his now sex life. It was just a hoot. There were some hard moments for each of them to work through as well though. Secrets they'd ferociously kept hidden. Admitting that maybe they needed someone/something in life they'd never considered before. I loved that they both grew because of each other. Dealt with the past. Confronted it. Changed because of each other. It was nice having that bit of depth and seriousness to go with the grrrr arrrgs and the snort-worthy humor.
"Maddie. Darling."

That brought her head around. "I told you not to darling me!" And he had the stripes across his cheek to prove it.

"I'd like to oblige," he said, "but you are darling to me." He pushed a hand through his hair. "I wish it wasn't so. You're the last woman I'd imagined feeling this way about."
All in all, a total enemies to lovers win. The set up, the frustrations, the chemistry and surprises along the way all just made for a delightfully fun read as two fabulously frustratingly perfect people fell in love. These two will definitely have a lively happily ever after that's for sure and it was a blast watching them work their way towards it. Definitely one to check out if you have a thing for lively enemies to lovers romances
