Silver Bastard (Silver Valley #1) by Joanna Wylde

Fourteen months. For fourteen months, Puck Redhouse sat in a cell and kept his mouth shut, protecting the Silver Bastards MC from their enemies. Then he was free and it was time for his reward—full membership in the club, along with a party to celebrate. That’s when he saw Becca Jones for the first time and set everything in motion. Before the night ended he’d violated his parole and stolen her away from everything she knew.

Five years. It was five years ago that Puck destroyed Becca and saved her all in one night. She’s been terrified of him ever since, but she’s even more terrified of the monsters he still protects her from... But Becca refuses to let fear control her. She’s living her life and moving forward, until she gets a phone call from the past she can't ignore. She has to go back, and there’s only one man she can trust to go with her—the ex-con biker who rescued her once before.

Puck will help her again, but this time it’ll be on his terms. No more lies, no more tears, and no more holding back what he really wants...

Whew boy! What was I doing at 530am instead of sleeping? Reading Silver Bastard, of course. I just couldn't stop reading. Wylde did NOT hold back with the start of the Silver Valley series! It was an edgy exciting ride that had me pretty damn captivated as Puck and Becca deal with their shady first meet from years ago and the killer attraction they've tried their best to ignore ever since. Throw in some club drama, friendships and manipulative family members and...yeah...no sleep for Anna. lol

"You have history with Puck Redhouse," he stated. "That's obvious. That something I should be worrying about?"
---
"No. No problem there--Puck and I knew each other for a while, once. That's all. There's no history. Nothing that matters now."

My stomach twisted as I said it, because that was a big fucking lie. Puck definitely mattered. There was Life Before Puck and Life After Puck, and those two lives had nothing in common.
Puck and Becca were characters I couldn't help but love. Becca's strong, determined to make something of herself and creative. I loved getting to know her. She was just an amazing young woman that really rose above a horrible childhood and was just someone I would want to know. And Puck. Scary sexy. Total hero noms. He's dark and dangerous and even if he doesn't want to admit it there's a good man under it all. They've got one hell of a screwy past and a start to their relationship that was painful and something most wouldn't be able to deal with but they survived. And they were seriously hot together. I mean. Explosive and totally make you tingle and squirm. Sexy as hell and lust-worthy. They're a little heartbreaking now and again but completely perfect for each other.
Becca Jones might be my property in the eyes of the club, but the reality was that she owned me and there wasn't a damned thing I could do about it.
There was action on both the home front and club front. It was frustrating, painful and had me seriously angry on their behalf as they dealt with people and life around them both current and past.

This is actually a pretty serious conversation dealing with abuse she'd suffered when younger but I love the way she thinks and how she says things.
Puck's face grew dark and I saw his finger tighten on the steering wheel. "Why the fuck haven't you told me that before?"

"Um... It's not really something I start all my conversations with, Puck. 'Hi, I'm Becca. My favorite color is red and I hate being chocked with cock.' Um,no. That's not how it's done."

His death grip on the steering wheel tightened.
All in all. I loved Silver Bastard. I've been crazy curious about the Silver Valley series and, damn, I closed the last page and I'm still crazy curious. I can't wait for more of these guys and the women who snag them. Bring on book two!
