Faking it never felt so good…
Cory Santangelo is used to getting his way, both in the boardroom and the bedroom. Lately he hasn’t had much opportunity to do anything but work, but one unexpectedly sexy night in a gazebo with Victoria, his gorgeous and feisty interior designer, changes all that—especially when they’re caught on camera. Suddenly Cory’s sterling reputation is no longer above reproach. Since his impromptu encounter coincides nicely with his need for a girlfriend to get his well-meaning, meddling parents off his back, he decides to ask his lifelong frenemy for a favor.
To pretend to be his girlfriend for a month. No strings attached.
The only problem? Vicky Townsend wants those strings tied all around her. She’s battled a long-suppressed crush on Cory, and their combative work relationship has only fanned the flames. When he suggests his needs are more than she can handle, she’s ready to up the ante. And her bargaining chip is lots of delicious, inventive sex.
Until they discover nothing feels as good as making it real…

Thanks so much for having me here at Herding Cats today! I love frittatas. Bring ‘em on!Now, I'm dying to hear about Cory and Vicky. I freaking LOVE the whole "fake mates" set up. Can you tell us just a little about Cory, Vicky and what you think will have readers falling for them?
I pretty sure they do! lol Lord knows I enjoy it so I'm all on board with this one :) So, can you tell us 3 fun behind the scenes things about No Romance Required?
Sure thing! No Romance Required features two characters, Cory and Vicky, who have known each other since childhood. Instead of becoming best buddies, they snipe at each other much more often than they share confidences. That probably (hopefully!) helps intensify the underlying thread of sexual tension I’ve been told sizzles through the page every time they speak to each other, but technically they can’t stand each other. Until one night verbal sparring turns into something way more delicious—and that illicit, impulsive moment is caught on camera. If your readers enjoy fun banter, hot fights and even hotter sex, then I think they might like this book!
Absolutely! Here are three things not everyone knows about the book!
- Vicky’s best friend Jill wasn’t included in my original plot. She just appeared and demanded to be heard (which is why she’s getting her own story!) Vicky was another character who blindsided me during No Flowers Required. Sometimes characters just try to take over. Sometimes they even succeed.
- The…candle scene, for the lack of a better way to keep this post spoiler-free, originally contained some naked two-person yoga. It’s very important to stretch before strenuous activities. You need to retain your flexibility, you know. *::snort:: very good advice*
- Despite the sad fact that I’m afraid of heights, this story—and many of my books—contains a scene that involves heights. But with Cory around, who notices how far away the ground is? Not this author! ;)
Hmm, tough question, since I’ve written a lot of heroes! I’ll go with Cory finding new uses for Vicky’s dining room table. Hint: he doesn’t need silverware. ;)Well that definitely works for me. So, what's your favorite quote or scene from No Romance Required?
Oooh, great question! That Cory says some naughty stuff so he makes it hard to choose. But this is from one of my favorite scenes on Cory’s balcony. Imagine a cool fall breeze, stars twinkling in the sky above, the sexy guy of your dreams wearing only black pants and showing off lots of muscles…
“What’s going on in that beautiful brain of yours?” Cory trailed his fingertip along her collarbone and Vicky nearly whimpered. “Some women might want to rope me into this arrangement to try to make it real. But my money isn’t what’s making your breath quicken right now.”
Whew, wouldn't be what was on mind either. Yum. Now, when you're not creating sexy romances what kinds of things will people find you getting up to?
Most often, reading or in the winter, screaming at men’s college basketball on TV. Let’s just say I’m an extremely devoted fan. Though I try not to yell too much (I’m so lying – I can’t help rooting for my team!)LOL, nice. Alright how about a couple quickie silly ones before you head out...
Oddest thing you've ever done?
I’d have to say the Halloween some teenage friends and I played a joke on some friends and “borrowed” one of their stuffed dummies from their lawn. Then I, as the getaway driver, drove around with a dummy’s arm sticking out of my trunk. With a cop following me – who luckily did not notice the dummy. (I don’t mean me in this case, though it applies!)Best ever kitchen disaster?
Anytime I try to cook is a disaster so I pretty much avoid the kitchen whenever possible.Pink flamingos or lawn gnomes?
Can I say both? I totally love both! Yeah, I’m tacky and I know it… *oh hey now--I've got both! lol*Favorite man candy?
Definitely Chris Pine, my inspiration for Cory. Check out my No Romance Required Pinterest board for lots of chances to drool! ;) *oh yeah!*I go totally girly squealy over...?
Timothy Olyphant. *swoon* He’s delish!Oooh he is nice! Thanks so much for dropping by Cari and for the man candy treats! It was great chatting with ya. I can't wait to spend a little time with Cory and Vicky!
Thanks again for having me! This was a ton of fun!
USA Today bestselling author Cari Quinn wrote her first story—a bible parable—in 2nd grade, much to the delight of the nuns at her Catholic school. Once she saw the warm reception that first tale garnered, she was hooked. Now she gets to pen sexy romances for a living and routinely counts her lucky stars. When she’s not scribbling furiously, she can usually be found watching men’s college basketball, playing her music way too loud or causing trouble. Sometimes simultaneously.
Yall feel free to leave Cari some love and any questions you've got.
