Interview w/ Kimberly Kincaid--cookies, man candy, mayo & awwwws

Desperate to escape the spotlight of her failed marriage to a fellow celebrity-chef, Carly di Matisse left New York City for a tiny town in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The restaurant she's running these days may not be chic, but in Pine Mountain she can pretend to be the tough cookie everybody knows and loves. Until she finds herself spending too much time with a way-too-hot contractor whose rugged good looks melt her like butter...

Jackson Carter wasn't looking for love. But he's not the kind of man to walk away from a worksite—or from a fiery beauty whose passionate nature provides some irresistible on-the-job benefits...

It's the perfect temporary arrangement for two ravenous commitment-phobes, except that Jackson and Carly keep coming back for seconds... and thirds... and fourths...

Kiiiiimmmmmberly!!!! Welcome back to the herd! *squee* So nice to have you dropping by this mornin. I might have gotten a wee bit excited and made cookies. Lots of cookies *whispers those heath bar crunch ones are real good*
You're a girl after my own heart! I made pumpkin chocolate chip cookies this morning. They go over really well with my kids!
I don't know about that pumpkin but yums to the chocolate chips! lol Alright, I'm ready for some juicy gossip about Gimme Some Sugar! If you had 10 seconds to hook someone what would you tell them?

Hot contractor who doesn't want commitments meets a sexy, feisty chef fresh off a bad divorce. It's no strings attached and no holds barred as these two keep coming back for seconds...and thirds...but can they overcome their pasts to end up with more than just heat in the kitchen?
*nods* That'd...do it for me. lol Can you tell us 3 fun/sexy/naughty/crazy behind the scenes facts about these two?
Let's see...
  • In my head, Jackson is fitness professional and model Jesse Pavelka (photo attached, because that's how I roll!)
  • The opening cute-meet scene where Jackson busts Carly singing in her underwear is based on an old Clairol commercial from the 80's (starring none other than Debra Messing!)
  • And the PB and J that Jackson feeds Carly in the book is actually a sandwich that my husband makes for me when I've had a bad day (everybody now: awwww!)
Awwwws, indeed. So cute! Aaaannnnd peaking of sexy, erm, we were speaking of sexy, right? What's the sexiest panty dropping thing about Jackson?
Without a doubt, his cocky smirk. He's so unnervingly smart-assed! It's my favorite thing about him.
LOL Smart-ass can be so damn fun. Any lust worthy quotes from that cocky man that'll have everyone sighing in girly bliss?
This is a quick teaser. Jackson is making Carly (who is a chef...and he is not) an impromptu meal. He wants it to be a surprise, so he tells her she can't watch him prepare it. Of course, she's headstrong, and she doesn't like surprises. But double of course, he stands his ground.
"Jackson turned to face her, stepping in close enough to sense Carly's breath hitch beneath the white cotton riding the swell of her breasts.

“And no peeking, either. If I think you’re cheating, I’ll be tempted to blindfold you.”

With that, he brushed his lips over hers in the barest of tastes before turning to walk away.
Wait, wait. Is that...supposed to be a deterrent?! lol If you had to sum up Carly and Jackson in one recipe/dish...what would it be?
They'd be comfort food, like grilled cheese and tomato soup. They go together perfectly, even if they don't see it!
Aws comfort food is the best. Alright how about a couple quickies?

Favorite Man Candy?
I change my answer to this like I change my pants. But a few of my go-to classics are Colin Farrell and Alex O'Loughlin. I like them tall, dark, and OMG.

Best "burning soup" moment? aka cooking disaster
Early in our marriage (aka 100 years ago), I made a chili dish for Mr. K that turned out *awful*. I don't know if it was the combination of ingredients-- I followed a recipe from a magazine-- or that the flavors were bad together, or what, but it was just terrible. He tried to soldier through, but as soon as I tasted it, I tossed it in the trash and said, "You can't eat that!" We ordered pizza instead! *LOL what a trooper he was*
What's for dinner?
Baked tilapia and wild rice, at the request of my nine year old (really!)
I'm completely freaked out by?
Mayonnaise *shivers* *OMG Kimberly me too!*
What's on your bucket list?
Tons of stuff! I really want to be an extra on a TV show one day. How FUN would that be?!
Oh that would be fun! Come down to NC. They're always filming this or that on our coast :D Thanks so much for dropping in Kimberly! And noshing on some cookies with me. lol Before you head out...what's up next for you?
I have a busy year ahead! Stirring Up Trouble (Pine Mountain #3) will be out on October 7th, followed by Fire Me Up (book #4) in February 2015. Then I have a super secret fun project right after that in March, and two more Pine Mountain books later in the year. It's a good life! Made better by cookies, of course :)
LOL, indeed! Alright yall! Feel free to leave Kimberly some comment love or questions! We always love hearing from yall :D
