Interview w/ Amanda Mariel-- scandal, hand fans & burning...ovens?

Hey Guys! We've got Amanda Mariel joining us today for a little book gossip! Yall give her a big welcome and hit those comments!

Morning, Amanda! Welcome to herding cats! I can't wait to hear about Scandalous Redemption. What a beautiful cover!
Thank you so much. I am thrilled to be here! Melody Barber with Aurora Publicity did my cover. She does fabulous work.
She does! The series is lovely. Alright, If  you had only 10 seconds to hook someone what would you tell them about Scandalous Redemption to bring on a case of *grabby hands*?
A widow in want of a passionate liaison sets her cap on an upstanding gentleman who wants a wife. #GetYourCopyNow
Go girl! lol Can you tell us 3 fun/sexy/quirky/neat /etc behind the scenes facts about your book?
In the first draft I had a dead mother who was suddenly alive later. My wonderful editor caught it and the mistake has been corrected.
The emotional abuse that haunts Claudia is based on my own experience. The physical abuse is pure fiction.
Claudia’s habit of biting her lower lip is one of my nervous ticks.
Ahhh on the zombie mom! lol Good editors are awesome. Do you have a favorite moment or quote from the book?
I do! My favorite quote comes up early in the book. I actually wrote it before I started writing the book. I was on a long car ride and it popped into my head. I jotted it down knowing it had to appear in Scandalous Redemption. Here it is:
“Some men are monsters. Lord Akford was such a man.” Her sullen stare penetrated him. “Do people not celebrate when monsters are slain?”
What would Claudia and Henry say their favorite thing about the other is?
Claudia love’s that Henry is gentle and thoughtful. Henry love’s Claudia’s tenacity and fearlessness.
Very good qualities, indeed! If they could give or do anything for the other--no limits--what would they give one another?
Henry would find away to erase the scandal from Claudia’s past and heal her emotional scars. Claudia would give Henry a child.
Aw. I think I would like both of them. Okay. Before you head off...A couple quickies!
Yay! Bring them on!!
Favorite Man Candy
This depends on the day. LOL! Today I will say: Jonathan Rhys Meyers. I loved watching him on Tudors!

If you could visit any time where would you go?
Regency England.
Best "burning soup" moment?
Two years ago on Thanksgiving mom and I caught the oven on fire while making sweet potatoes with marshmallows on top. My siblings and dad still tease us about it!
::snorts:: That's some talent! Favorite historical accessory?
Hand fan
Me too! Now before you go. What's up next for you?
I have several things in the works including some exciting box sets and a joint series of novellas as well as my solo projects. Readers can expect two more books in the Ladies and Scoundrels series, a full length medieval series, and several Regency books from me over the next two years.
Whew! Lots of exciting stuff! Thanks so much for dropping in, Amanda! Best wishes for your release. It sounds wonderful!

Ruined by scandal, Claudia Akford survived years of marriage to a cruel brute. Widowed, she is determined to regain her standing in society, but Lord Shillington personifies temptation. Kind and gentle, yet masculine and sinfully handsome, he would make the perfect lover, but he wants more than she is willing to give.

While Henry Shillington knows a little of the beautiful but notorious Lady Claudia Akford, he is struck by her kindhearted, accomplished, and witty demeanor. The more time he spends in her company, the more he dreams of a future with her. But the lady resists his honorable overtures, and a mistress will never do for him.

Can two wary people overcome past hurts, an old scandal, and social strictures to embrace true love?
