Taming Lily (The Fowler Sisters #3) by Monica Murphy

Fun and sexy! A little edgy too! Taming Lily was my favorite of the series as Lily uncovers a plot against her family's cosmetics company and winds up on the run after those plotting find out she knows about their illegal activities. So...Lily runs to Hawaii to hide for a bit and figure things out only to run into one damn fine man she can't seem to resist and that might be hiding some serious deceptions of his own where she's involved. Dum...dum...dum!!!!

I loved Lily. She's a 'wild child' party girl as far as everyone else is concerned. She screws up, makes scenes and is just...out of control. But it's really quite an act. I liked seeing her away from everything. With her hair down, the fascade brushed aside and her just being herself. She was easy to like, funny, a little at lose ends and trying to figure out what to do.

And Max was crazy hot. He's not got the best intentions when he strikes things up with Lily but his redeeming quality, for me, was that he knew what he was doing was fucked up and he battled himself internally over it. I liked him even if I wanted to strangle him a time or two but he pulled through and the heroine was fab so I was pretty happy. They had some fun chemistry too. There were a lot of smiles and giggles as things went along.
*there may be a little skinny dipping happening...

"What are you laughing at?" he asks.

"Your ghostly white butt," I tell him, deciding to be honest.

He splashes water at me, getting my feet and ankles wet, and I jump back a little.
The heat is verra verra nice too. A wild vacation fling that's hot, steamy and a little reckless. They definitely heat things up and it was fun to go along for the ride as feelings start to get in the way and real life intrudes once again.

I liked the storyline of Lily being on the run and trying to figure out how to take down the scummy employee and protect the family company. I liked it as it was happening and things were unfolding but the end was a little lackluster. I expected more of an explosion with things but it just wrapped up fairly easily which was a bit of a let down even though it worked. I was feeling a bit blood thirsty I think. He

All in all, Taming Lily was an easy read. Fast, sexy and fun. Perfect for a hot afternoon in when you just want a quickie that'll hit the right spots. Its a spot edgy and the characters aren't always the best humans but I think that's part of what I love about it. They change, grow and turn into people you can really appreciate and enjoy.

PS--The covers for this series are freaking AMAZING! So damn sexy!
I’m in trouble. Again. And instead of facing my problems head on, I’ve run away. Far away this time, and no one can catch me—not my two younger sisters, Violet and Rose, not my father, my grandmother, or that witch Pilar who wants to take control of my family’s cosmetics company. Now I’m in Hawaii, enjoying the sun and the sand and water, where nobody knows the hot mess known as Lily Fowler. And I’m loving every minute of it.

But someone is watching me. Following me. He’s gorgeous. And soon we’re talking, and against all my instincts, I reveal bits and pieces of myself to Max. It feels good, though I know he can’t be the man for me. These sudden feelings we share are way too complicated, too fraught, too intense.

Then everything explodes and I’m forced to return home. My intentions have always been true, but now everyone’s mad at me. I don’t know who to turn to anymore . . . except to Max. He’s who I want to trust. But I’m not so sure I should. Maybe it’s worth the risk—and what-ifs be damned. . . .
