Hey yall! We've got Maria Geraci joining us for a chat. Yall come say hey and give her a big welcome to the blog!
*waves good morning* Hey Maria! Welcome to herding cats! It's so nice to meet another Florida girl! I'm in NC now but my mama's still down there :D Since it's so warm I thought Ice Tea and lemonade for our chat. So...how goes it in FL?
Hot, muggy, lots of bugs. But I wouldn’t live anywhere else. Oh, and I’ll have an Arnold Palmer (Ice tea plus lemonade). Have you ever tried one? They’re delicious!LOL sounds about like here <pours a bit of sweet tea and lemonade> Oh yay! I love those! Since it's your first time with the herd I'm curious about book one--That Thing You Do. If you had 10 seconds to hook someone well and good what would you tell them?
If the guy who smashed your heart 12 years ago was suddenly in front of you, looking hotter than ever, and is now more interested in you than you are in him, what would you do? It’s either a recipe for a fantastic revenge story or a romance. I’ll give you a hint: it’s a romance!Ooo I LOVE those second chance romances. *noms* Can you tell us 3 fun/sexy/silly/etc behind the scenes facts about Allie and Tom? Think Pop-Up Video style.
- Allie likes to call the night she begged Tom to take her virginity, The Night of the Great Humiliation Part 1. (And yes, there’s a Night of the Great Humiliation, Part 2, as well!).
- Allie can’t use four letter words without feeling incredibly guilty, so she makes up swear words instead (much to Tom’s amusement). Her favorite expletive is “Captain Crunch!”
Oh dear. The Night of the Great Humiliation, Part 2? lol Any gigglesnort-worthy quotes that were just fabulous?
- Tom and Allie use a phone app “ghost detector” to try to catch an elusive ghost. It’s a fun scene, but more importantly, it’s the first scene in which you see Tom really connecting with Allie again.
( Here’s the set up for the quote: Allie hasn’t seen Tom in 12 years, so she has this little recurring fantasy while she’s under the influence of Ben and Jerry’s Chunky Monkey ice-cream that Tom is now bald, fat, and missing his front teeth. When she actually sees him for again after all those years, he’s of course, absolutely none of those things. )
She took a deep breath and tried to act as if running into her ex was an everyday occurrence. “Well, well, well, if it isn’t Tom Donalan. I see you still have all your teeth.”Oh man. Poor Alli! lol First thing that pops into your mind about her? What about Tom?
He blinked and shook his head. “What?”
I see you still have all your teeth. Argh! Of all the Tom Donalan scenarios she’d played in her head over all the years, this was not what she was supposed to say to him.
Allie is just a big goofball and Tom is incredibly sexy. It’s a good blend, actually. They sound pretty fun. If you could spend 24 hours with these two...what would yall get up to?
We’d go ghost hunting, of course. I have an app on my phone we could use. For real!
Oh too funny! That Thing You Do sounds amazing! But there are two more books out in the series now. Can you tell us one tiny teaser from each of them?
THEN HE KISSED ME is a story about what happens when the beautiful blonde ex-cheerleader gets kissed by the former high-school nerd turned hottie doctor. Sometimes, the unexpected works out a lot better than you can ever imagine!
In THAT MAN OF MINE, Mimi and Zeke have trouble keeping their sex life private, as in, from the whole town. All I will say, is that there are armadillos involved. You’ll have to either use your imagination or read the book!Eeps! I'm so gonna have to read all of these!
Favorite Man Candy?
Whenever I’m writing a story I always have a clear visual of my hero. Currently, I’m working on my fourth Whispering Bay romance and my hero, Luke, looks a lot like Tom Brady. So, he’s the flavor of the moment.Best "burning soup" moment? (aka cooking disaster)
Oh, gosh, I’m kind of embarrassed to say that I have a lot of those. It’s probably the time I put a roast in the oven and forgot to turn on the stove and thought it was cooking the whole time!::snort;: that's awesome. I'm completely freaked out by?
Heights. I can’t do roller coasters. Even escalators make me a little dizzy. My favorite word is...?
Marinate. There are just so many different ways you can use it!ohmigod. I can't believe I ever rocked the X style?
Big puffy 80’s hair. What were we all thinking?LOL, nice! Best thing to put on toast?
Cream cheese. Yum!Have you ever seen a ghost??
I’m pretty sure I have. Or not. Only the ghost knows for sure.Dinosaurs or dragons?
Normally, I’d say dinosaurs, but since I’m on a big Game of Thrones kick, I’ll have to say dragons.Yay! Dragons for the win! Before you head out...what's up next for you?
I’m working on my fourth Whispering Bay romance. I really love this world that I’ve built up and it’s going to be hard to let it go!Thanks so much for dropping in Maria! Hope you have a good one.
Thanks for having me!
Allie Grant doesn’t believe in second chances. She does, however, believe in the power of a permanent paycheck. So when a tipster reports that the soon-to-be demolished senior center in her hometown is haunted, Allie hightails it to Whispering Bay to get the scoop that could secure her dream job at Florida! magazine. What she finds, though, is far scarier than any ghost. Cue her ex-boyfriend, sexy construction foreman Tom Donalan.
When Tom catches Allie poking around his construction site, he quickly realizes his former high school flame is just as feisty as ever. And, heaven help him, her irresistible, mile-high legs still take his breath away. But Tom isn’t about to delay the building’s demolition because of a silly ghost story.
With neither of the stubborn exes backing down from their opposing positions, sparks fly. And, underneath the surface, the fire of their old attraction burns as hot as ever. When strange things start happening with increasing frequency around town, even a tough skeptic like Tom is tested. The question is, can Allie and Tom stop fighting long enough to get to the bottom of Whispering Bay’s ghost problem—and the more important matter of mending their broken hearts?

Her current addictions include watching the STARZ adaption of OUTLANDER to drool over Sam Heughan, hitting the beach on the weekends, and searching for the perfect key lime pie recipe (but not the kind they served on Dexter).
