4 stars--Crosstown Crush (Sins In the City, #1) by Cara McKenna

Please! Can I have another?!! ohmigod. Crosstown Crush was like a deliciously dirty version of 'I'll show you mine, if you show me yours'...the kink edition. Leave it to McKenna to always bring something fascinating and unique to the table and do so in a gloriously sexy, intriguing way.

This...was a new one for me. The quick of it is that Sam and Mike are married and he's got a rather interesting fetish--he's got a cuckolding kink. Yep, he gets off on thinking his wife is cheating on him and he's not good enough. It's something they've worked into their sex life with creative role playing over the years--her going out for drinks, rubbing a little cologne on herself and coming home to be "caught" and the like. But now Sam's ready to up their role playing and give him one helluva gift--bringing another man, a stranger, into their lives to play out those fantasies in living, sweaty, filthy color. Even better...their kinky third has his own fetish and enjoys being watched. *noms* Kinky fetishes abound and it..was...glorious.
Sam felt herself blushing, unsure about sharing the thought, as she had no clue how attracted to her Bern might really be. But she decided to trust all the cues his body was offering hers. "Yeah. He thinks I'm...He thinks I'm really sexy, so there's some part of him that likes the idea of another guy getting to enjoy me for an evening, all the while knowing that he's the one who gets to keep me."

After a thoughtful pause, Bern grinned. "That may be the sweetest, filthiest, most fucked-up thing I've ever heard."

Sam laughed. "That's my husband. Sweet and filthy..."
It was impossible not to fall for all three of these people--Sam and Mike who had an incredible marriage and acceptance of each other and Bern who joined them. They're all so delightfully twisted with their kinks and desires and I loved watching them explore that together and seeing things evolve over the weeks. They all had that mix of confidence and insecurity and nerves and it made them so fun to explore with. The added bits of humor made it even better as they got past those nerves and settled into to one crazy weird relationship and crafted some seriously forbidden fantasies and brought them to life.
"You can head home, or whatever," she said. "My cab should be here soon."

"Then what? He finds one of his own?"

She nodded. "I'll text him, tell him I'm running late, waste enough time that he can beat me home. We'll pretend I kept him up waiting while I was out flirting with you."

He smiled. "I am so jealous of whatever totally fucked-up sex you two are going to have when you get home."

She laughed. "Thank you. If all goes well, maybe you'll get to partake someday."
So the squick factor. I know. I know. A lot are going to balk at the cheatery theme since the kink is her pretending to go out and hook up behind his back then bringing someone into their marriage. Yall know I have a huge anti-cheating thing but hang in there with me. McKenna managed to handle the relationships and kink in a way that kept things on the up and up for me. These three managed to make their kinks work for them--cuckolding, exhibitionism and menage. It was hot instead of sleazy. Passionate and almost romantic instead of cheap and tawdry. And they really worked at it, thought it out, talked about issues that came up. It was nicely done.

Now. The heat.

Whew boy!

Okay. This one was scorching hot. I mean. Holy cow make a girl squirm hot. And the taboo factor just kicked it up another notch. Perfectly edgy and intense. These men were utterly sinful and burned up the sheets. Pushing boundaries to their breaking points, power, control, exploring everything that makes you tick. It was toe curling good!

My only complaint was that the ending wasn't a tidy HEA which is fairly typical of McKenna's writing. There was more a happy for now instead of a happily ever after. It was good and very satisfying but I tend to prefer that little happily ever after bow.

I'm seriously curious where this will go as a series since book two isn't listed yet. Will it be more of this trio? Will one break away from the arrangement? Will there be a whole net set of people (since we didn't meet anyone else in this one)? Kills me. It does. I need to know! lol Captivatingly kinky...Crosstown Crush is one not to miss.

Do you have a favorite from McKenna?
What's the most unique kink you've read about?

When he’s working, Mike Heyer is all business—every inch the alpha male, with the hard, capable body to back up his persona. But at home he can be a different man entirely, harboring appetites only his wife gets to glimpse…

When Samira first learned of her husband’s fantasies, she was reluctant, even alarmed. But after witnessing the way they set him on fire, she yielded, and happily indulged. As their games have intensified, so has the rush. And now so has the risk—they’re poised to take Mike’s indecent desires to the next level, by opening their bed to a sexy, brazen stranger. A man seeming custom-made to grant every last one of Mike and Samira’s sinful wishes.

Welcoming someone new into their lives was always a dangerous proposition, but the couple imagined if anything was at stake, it was their privacy…not their hearts.
