4 stars-- Midnight Wolf (Shifters Unbound, #11) by Jennifer Ashley

Dammit! Ashley made me cry. I was totally holding my shit together and then page 313 (out of 314) got me. Blasted grumbly alpha males being all sweet and thoughtful. lol

I had a great time with Midnight Wolf! Ashley never fails at delivering a stellar shifter romance that'll leave a girl shivering in delight. Noms!
The Gist: Angus has been ordered--by the jerk authorities that monitor shifters-- to hunt down a wee female shifter. Fuckers actually stole his cub to force his hand. When he catches her? Well everything changes for both of them because he kinda sorta decides to keep her without even meaning to. So ensues a mad dash for safety, carnies, an abundance of hot broody sexy alpha males and a whole lot of steamy make your tummy flutter goodness. Mmhm. Oh! And cute little cubs, too.

I loved Angus and Tamsin. They're night and day. He's grumbly and growly and all kinds of broody massive male-- with a kind heart and shy bashfulness when intimate things are mentioned. And she's all energy and light. He's a planner and she jumps right into the fire without thought. And they were just so dang perfect and cute together. I loved watching them briefly battle then fall into a romance.

And omg his cub. Ashley writes the best cubs! They're so dang precious and seeing both Angus and Tamsin with him absolutely warmed the heart. He was such a cutie.
She looked out the front window again. "I'm going to have to think about this."

"Are you not accepting because he has a cub already?" Ciaran asked, worried. "I'm usually good. I even clean my room sometimes before my dad remembers to tell me to do it."

Tamsin turned around and clasped Ciaran's hands, kissing each one. "Oh, sweetie. If I could have you as my cub, I'd love it. It's not you 'm worried about-- it's your dad. I'd have to live with him."
The action was exciting. Shifter Bureau is hell bent on capturing Tamsin and they've gotta figure out why and keep her safe at the same time. I loved getting some new characters and seeing some of my old favorites-- Xander, Ben, Dimitri and Tiger-- come to the rescue. Even the 'haunted' house played a part. Some edge of your seat moments, joining in with a traveling carnival and some interesting revelations during the showdown made for an exciting ride.

All in all, Midnight Wolf hit the spot. Sexy shifters, sassy heroines, romance, humor, a little action and adventure. A good time was had. It surely was.
Angus Murray, bouncer for a New Orleans Shifter bar, is sent to round up an elusive, Collar-less Shifter woman, Tamsin Calloway, who is causing trouble for Shifter Bureau, and possesses information they want. If Angus refuses, he risks losing his cub. He finds Tamsin but she's slippery and not about to be rounded up quietly.

In fact, quiet is nothing Tamsin will ever be. She leads Angus on a wild chase, but he's determined to bring her in to save his son.

Can Tamsin convince Angus she's worth helping before she's locked away by Shifter Bureau, Collared, or perhaps killed?
