[memes] I'm Going To Need One More Book, Please! + bookish happenings

I wanted to meme. And only had one weekly post to do it. So there's a whole lotta memeage happening in this post. You might have to scroll down a bit to get the one you're looking for. 😸

I've been bitten by the spring cleaning bug. It all started on the say we had 18 hours of rain. That...is a lot of hours of rain, yall. So I stayed in and cooked an amazing sweet potato chick pea stew and organized. Then had the food pantry which was super busy. Then decided I wasn't leaving the house again for a couple days. And I've been cleaning, purging, organizing. And realizing that I am every one of my 35.6 years. I think it was that last .1 that did me in. It was all sit ya ass down. You too old for this nonsense now. Holy cow but the bits. The bits cannot handle all the lifting and cleaning they used to handle. So we napped. lol
Some reading and blogging happened along the way. And I managed to not pick up any new review books. Quite pleased with that!

Dark Sexy Knight was fun. It's a take on Camelot where they work at a Camelot dinner theater.

Cooking for Cowboy was entertaining-- a chef going to work on a chuckwagon racing ranch for a bunch of cowboys. It wasn't all the remarkable but was enjoyable.

Ginger's Heart was 500 pages of piss me the fuck off. Including killing one of the heroes. Yall. *deep breath* There were words.

Cinderella's Cowboy is pretty cute. The heroine is organizing a charity event for the hero. I'm nearly finished with it. It's an easy novella.

Two freebies. Couldn't resist cowboys. Or the amazing cover on Family Jewels.
Both were freebies.

3 stars-- Fearless in Texas by Kari Lynn Dell
4 stars-- Midnight Wolf by Jennifer Ashley
4 stars-- Disturbing His Peace by Tessa Bailey

I’d Slay a Lion to Get These Books Early One More Book!

So. I don't know. I'm at 6 1/2 year blogging at this point and I don't have many upcoming releases I'd slay a lion for. I get a lot of my favorites 4-6 months early already. I wouldn't say I'm jaded, exactly, but the shine has worn off maybe? lol

So I'm changing my top ten to favorite series that have ended (or been abandoned) that I would LOVE to get my hands on one more of.

Geissinger's Bad Habit series. I LOVED these. The heroes have some sexy mouths on them. There's drama and broken characters and the narration was awesome, too.

Lucky Harbor by Jill Shalvis. Lordy this series. It's just such a quirky little town and the men are swoon-worthy.

Wooboy! Yeah there's some steam in this series-- and pierced penis!-- and I would love a bit more of that in my life. Sure would.

The Last Chance Cowboys are some of my favorite historical western romances. They're gritty and make you ache but are so good. I'm so sad to see the series end.

The Chance Sisters. Yes, I would love more of them, too. Beautiful covers, a unique set up-- an older lady of the ton took in 4 "granddaughters" that aren't related but really girls with no other options in life. They were amazing.

Wild Aces from Cleeton. Oh. My. God. This series. It's the best military romance series I've read and left me absolutely gutted and gave me a book hangover. lol

Between Breaths from Lee. She's one that's gone to m/m romance mainly I think now and I miss her new adult and contemporary m/f romances. Again...there was some pierced peen. And book 4 just floored me.

Another from Shalvis. I would love the rest of the Cedar Ridge series. It was abandoned after 3 books but there are still siblings left to get their books. So that was a bummer. Not sure why it was given up on but I want them. I do.

Sins in the City! McKenna can write some smut! lol This series was very interesting. It's different forms of menages and it is incredibly hot and unique.

Question: Have you ever thought of writing a respectful, but angry letter to an author to ask them WHY they killed off one of your favorite characters in a novel?
A: Nope! Because almost every time it's happened at that point I'm done with that author and could not care less. I've had a couple who have lost me as a reader because of that. A couple have managed to pull it off but it's rare and usually not a main character but a side one.
