dammit. do you really expect more of a review?? *flails*
LOL okay.
Alright the quick of it is that Greg has been accepted onto a Marine's boxing team. And hot damn things have gotten much more interesting for him when he lays eyes on the new athletic liaison, Reagan. She's hitting all his buttons. And, whew boy, Greg's definitely making Reagan's first job an interesting one. Even more so when vandals start targeting the boxing team and Greg's questionable past is brought to light. A sexy Marine, a team in the spotlight, growly coaches, yeah, Reagan definitely has her hands full.
Really, Against the Ropes was a fun read. Sexy hero coming into his own and finding his place, a great heroine doing...pretty much the same thing and finding her way in life. Luscious chemistry and attraction, some action and suspense as the team deals with unknown attackers, fantastic secondary characters and friendships. It was just a lovely read and has me so damn excited for book three.

Greg and Reagan were great. I loved that they were somewhat opposites. Greg's kind of a handful and rather laid back and Reagan's got the prim and proper happening. They had a wonderful dynamic and I just enjoyed them both together and individually. I loved that they were both in somewhat similar situations in that they were really finding themselves. Greg was a Marine and on the boxing team but he wasn't particularly passionate about either. They just were for him. And Reagan is brand new on the work force and pretty much out of her element coming from a small town with few options and on her own for the first time. I loved watching them both find their place and passions. I totally wanted to cheer for them, ya know?
There's some suspense with attacks against the team kept me curious. I think I know but we shall see. Against the Ropes is a stand alone romance--you get a HEA--but the suspense is carried over into the final book.
The romance was fun and sexy, the suspense engaging and the team---did I mention a lot of half nekkid sweaty Marines before?--yeah...so good! Murray never fails to charm, delight and get a girl panting for more. Can't wait to see what happens in the next.
Do you have a favorite from Murray?
Any sexy Marines you just love? Book or pics!
As a troubled teen, Gregory Higgs channeled his energy into boxing instead of breaking the law. The ring gave him purpose and something to strive for. So did the Marines. Combining the two seemed like a natural fit.
Another natural fit? Reagan Robilard, the sweet athlete liaison who keeps all the fighters out of trouble and manages their PR—a job that gets more challenging when someone digs up the truth about Greg’s not-so-shiny past after equipment is vandalized at the gym.
Even if it wasn’t her job, Reagan can’t let Greg take the fall. Because passion doesn’t pull any punches when it comes to matters of the heart…
