KellyCat helping me tend the tulips |
I was able to get a good bit of gardening done (yay spring!) and had the food pantry which was very quiet until the last half hour then crazy. I did some reading and couponing and tending a herd baby that's not feeling great. She's going into the vet today so we'll see what can be done. Cleo is doing great for those wondering. A few small attacks due to pollen, I think, but doing good.
A decent reading week. Three finished.
Shooting Scars-- Wasn't terrible but it was pretty pointless. Nothing really was accomplished. It was mostly filler with seriously morally questionable characters.
Smashed Potatoes and Gravy-- Was a cute one. These are super light and aren't that complex writing-wise but they're fun and I like the characters.
Beaches, Bungalows & Burglaries-- Was my first from Kappes. The heroine basically loses everything but a run down RV park full of people her husband did dirty financially and she's trying to make things right. I enjoyed it but not nearly as funny/light as I thought hers would be. I'll read the rest of them, though.
Working on this one which was a little past due for review. I love Krentz and have enjoyed the series and was a bit giddy to see mention of two previous series in this one. I'm about 60% through and having a good time with Untouchable.
I picked up a few (at the time) freebies. I've read Let There Be Light via KU so figured grab a copy to keep. And I own the Chase in print but again grab a free e-copy just to have. Because...pretty. lol
memes-- Eve Me
In My Cart -- I Paid $8.60 for $61.69 of Groceries
Just A Hint-- Clint by Lori Foster
Nothing fancy food-wise. I was tired this week and one of the babies is poorly. So easy things and pizza last night. Some weeks you just gotta do that.

Top Ten: Rainy Day Reads
I was thinking on this and landed on my cozy comfort reads that keep me company on gloomy days. Books I want to snuggle down and devour. With the patter of rain and grey skies I just want to lay in bed with a soft blanket, purring kitties and books I can get lost in.
Jill Shalvis, Maisey Yates, Carolyn Brown are three of my go to ladies. Really any of their series. They're just comfortable and give me the warm fuzzies.
I've been going the cozy mystery route, too. The Cozy Corgi. is one of my current favorites
Denise Grover Swank is quickly climbing my rainy day list. I love this world she created for Rose. The main series and all the spin off ones. I can't get enough of the characters so a rainy day and getting to hunker down and just spend time with them is awesome.
A favorite audiobook would be the Fox and O'hare series from Evanovich because Brick's voice. Oh. My. God. I would roll around in it if I could. lol
And then, really, anything from Amanda Quick/Jayne Ann Krentz. She's just got nice easy mysteries with fun romances and quirky characters.

Question: When reading a series, do you re-read the previous book/s before reading the newly released book?
A: No, not really. Every once in a while but honestly so many of my series are SO long (12-40 books) that I'd never be able to do that. If I was a faster reader maybe but I can't spend an entire month (or two) re-reading a series just for one new release.
