[AtoZ memes] Writing Reviews When Stressed + my week in books

Well summer is trying to make an appearance here! It warmed up a lot. Nice at night at least. And it's doing lovely things to the garden which is fun to watch.

It was a fairly quiet week here. Cleo was making me nervous (video here) so I skipped the food pantry and stuck close to home. Her vet agreed she needs to be on steroids full time now instead of just for big flare ups. So she'll get them daily. Fingers crossed we can nip this in the bud.

Other than that I gardened a ton, blogged a ton, worked around the house and did paperwork. Had some good reading. It wasn't a terrible week. Not terrible at all.

The Player-- HOT cover. Terrible read. It was so boring and had so many things that were ridiculous about the storyline and characters and their romance. It was a big nope.

Spell of Trouble-- Fun diving into another series by Dobbs. It's a magical town but magic is hiding. Which is problematic when the town busy body is killed in front of the pet store owning witch's shop and she was killed by magic. It was cute. Easy read.

Spell Disaster-- Pretty fun. One of the older ladies in town accidentally summoned a demon and the cousins are trying to vanquish it. Predictable but fun.

Daughter of the Spellcaster is my VERY LAST NETGALLEY title!! Yall! It's WAY past due but I'm getting it done and then will be at 100%. I'm not really loving it but, eh, at least we're nearly done.

I picked up a handful of at the time freebies.

Was also last week's planner that I hadn't used at all. lol

And food was had. Some funny fried mashed potatoes.
Baked ziti and salad
English Muffins with havarti cheese and tomatoes and onion from the garden
Couscous with roasted veggies and sweet potato
And dessert. I dipped the cake in butter and broiled it first. Yum!

(I changed this week's theme since I really don't have "inspirational book quotes" that I've marked down and saved anywhere)

Question: At the end of a hard day, how do you get yourself psyched about writing a book review?
A: Um. I don't. I'm a weird blogger. I'm a big believer in blogging ahead and host a couple events each year to do just that. So a HUGE portion of my posts are done during those 2-3 events. I'll knock out 30-60 posts during each one. Then those go live over the next couple months. Then another event happens. Because of that I usually have enough blog posts stocked up (30-100) so  I don't have to blog unless I really want to write a sudden random post to add into the mix of finished posts. It didn't used to be that way. I'd be blogging last minute and not enjoying it all that much which I'm sure showed. I'm so dang glad I changed how I blogged. It was not easy in the beginning but now it's such a relief and makes blogging much more fun overall.
