Interview w/ Tawdra Kandle--wait...there are HOW many flamingos??

Nell Massler is a powerful witch from an ancient magical family. Before she was eighteen years old, she attempted murder—not once, but twice. Committed to a psych ward, she attempts to right her wrongs and almost loses her life.

While she’s lost in a coma, Caruthers Initiative Institute develops a vested interest in waking Nell—and offering her a chance at redemption.

Nell is given a fresh start in exchange for saving her fellow agent, Rafe Brooks. Keeping him alive and in hiding will require every ounce of her extraordinary abilities. Not falling head over heels for the sexy mind manipulator will take a miracle.

It's when they uncover a plot to destroy the world that Nell will be put to the test... will she choose Rafe and to do the right thing? Or will she succumb to the temptation of evil yet again?

Morning Tawdra! Welcome to herding cats! It's so nice to meet you. I'm totally lusting over your covers for this series and can't wait to hear some scoop on it!
Thank you! I'm so happy to be here, since I spend a good deal of my time herding cats. I love my covers, too.  Rafe is ooooh-la-la. . .
He looks pretty darn tasty to me! So, say you're in line at the grocery store and you want to hook someone before they finish checking out...what would you tell them about The Serendipity Duet that would have them panting for more?
Rafe is terminally sexy guy with a broken heart who decides to indulge in massive amounts of wine, women and song to forget the pain. He meets a wild woman in New Orleans who recruits him to work with her at an organization that links people with special powers to those who need them. A mission goes wrong, bad things happen, someone unexpected has to save the day, and--oh, paper or plastic? No, thanks, I brought my own bags. The story is filled with super hot love scenes, great settings and edge of your seat suspense. Hey, don't forget your receipt!
LOL that'll do it. Can you tell us 3 fun/sexy behind the scenes facts about Rafe and his journey? Think Pop-Up Video style.

  • Rafe can bend minds. This means he can give you the best time you'll never remember. *oh that's pretty neat!*
  • Over his summer of debauchery, Rafe hits just about every major city in the US of A, finally ending up in the Big Easy. . .where life and the ladies are both, ah, easy.
  • Rafe drives a 1967 Impala that belonged to his dad.

Ahhh a summer of debauchery. That does sound...fun. Heh. So, what was your favorite quote that just made you swoon or had you gigglesnorting or sighing in girly bliss?
There were so many! Rafe is a real smart. . .aleck. But I'll choose one, in honor of my friend and right-hand assistant Stacey:
"What are you doing?" Her voice was low and intimate.

"Nothing, just tasting you. Every since you mentioned the handcuffs, I've been, um, interested."

She rolled her eyes but moved one hand to cover my head, running her fingers through my hair. "You're always interested, Rafe."

"True. More interested, then."
LOL. Nice. So, what is it about Rafe that totally just does you in? What about Nell?
Oh, heavens, Rafe is just it. He is hot, sexy, and a little bit naughty, but he also respects his grandma.
Nell is still finding out who she is. She's damaged; she vacillates between not wanting to depend on anyone and needing to love someone. She is strong, and she's tough. But she's learning that strength can sometimes mean leaning on someone else. . .as long as he's a tall, dark mind bender.
Aws naughty but good to his grams is a total winner. And gah Nell is totally my type of heroine. Love when they realize that. Alright how about a couple quickies...

Favorite Man Candy?
Adam Levine and Ryan Gosling. Drool. . .
Yard gnomes, pink flamingos or those faces on trees?
Pink flamingos, natch. I live in Florida. Did you know there are more plastic pink flamingos in the world than there are real ones? True story. *lol I totally didn't know that! I may have 3 of those. Heh.*
Weirdest thing in your purse right now?
A map of the cemetery where my ancestors are buried in NJ, as I always get lost when I visit their graves, and I just got back from a visit north.
Favorite color shoes?
Purple.
I'm completely obsessed with?
Goat cheese. I eat it with beets, with chicken, on burgers. . yum!
Hmm interesting. I don't think I've ever had goat cheese! So, what's coming up next for you?
My next book is the second installment in the Perfect Dish Duo--it's called JUST DESSERTS, the sequel to BEST SERVED COLD.  And then we'll finally release the first book in my adult para-mystery series. The series is Recipe for Death, but the first book is as yet untitled. Rafe and Nell will make appearances there, too. I plan to release a New Adult book called THE LAST ONE, part of the Crystal Cove books, this year, too. And just maybe one more Rafe and Nell book. . .in a new series of their own.
Oo lots coming up. Exciting! I'm gonna have to check out Just Desserts and Best Served Cold. Love those titles. Thanks so much for coming by Tawdra!
Thank you for having me. It's been a blast.
