Christmas Quickies-- {The Heiress and the Hothead by Sabrina Jeffries} & {Christmas With an Angel by Debbie Mason}

The Heiress and the Hothead (Sinful Suitors #1.5) by Sabrina Jeffries

The Quick Of It: A Christmas gathering. A heated kiss. A British hero set on exposing the atrocities of mill owners. An American heroine who so happens to own a mill. Realizing you just kissed the enemy? #Priceless
The Yay: Stephen and Amanda were quite the thing. Poor bloke. He just never had a chance against Amanda who was such a firecracker! She's a fierce chickie and not about to take any of his crap over the mills. Had him all turned upside down and churned up over all his warring desires. I had fun watching their sharp tongues and seeing resolve weaken on both sides. They may have seemed at odds over the mills but really they're both great people who want to make the world a safer place for workers though they definitely went about it different ways. Whew! There's a little heat and a little danger that brings them together.

The Nay: There was one sex scene and it was a little weird location/timing-wise. Like really yall?

Verdict: Do it! The Heiress and the Hothead is a fun little jaunt and a tasty holiday treat! Oh and this was originally part of the anthology What Happens Under the Mistletoe.

Stunned by the heat of an unexpected kiss on a cold winter’s eve, two strangers from vastly different worlds turn hotheaded principles into burning passion in Sabrina Jeffries’s delightful yuletide story, The Heiress and the Hothead.

Christmas with an Angel (Harmony Harbor, #1.5) by Debbie Mason

Christmas with an Angel was a well written start to a story. A heads up, as it is, this isn't a romance...yet. This really read as a prologue to a future story. In that sense...it's a bit disappointing because while the scene that happens resolves there's not a full story only a set up to a future one. There's not really much time to get to know the characters-- definitely not a place to start for those who haven't read book one. For what it is I enjoyed it. But, that said, I could have easily skipped it, too. I do want to see the romance between these two. Oo! It'll be fun, I think.  An assistant district attorney and an ex-con heroine. Yes, one day that'll be a fun story to see.

It's been eight long years since Michael Gallagher has laid eyes on Shay Angel, back when he was a boy from the most prominent family in town and she was a girl from the wrong side of the tracks. But he hadn't cared about their differences - until one bad decision landed her in jail.

That was years ago and now he's back in Harmony Harbor for the holidays. So when Shay goes missing, Michael is intent on finding her - and finding out if their sizzling attraction is still there. But he's now a district attorney, and it looks like Shay is once again on the wrong side of the law.
