Quote-tastic/Review-- the sweet spot-- Size Matters (A Perfect Fit #1) by Alison Bliss

Oh my gosh. Yall! New to me author. Totally became my crack. I had such a good time with this one. And pretty much turned my book into a veritable rainbow for all the little post it notes that mark all the hilariously amazing quotes.

So a few for today... this hero. He cracked me up. He's got one serious sweet tooth and he'd say things and I was like yup...yup that's about right. lol

She laughed. "You're not going to eat eight cupcakes."

"You're right, I'm not. I'm going to be a gentleman and save you one. But I call dibs on the other seven."
He, erm, also had a terrible case of foot-in-mouth disease and thinking before speaking which was pretty damn funny, too.  He'd just promised they'd show up at some event...
...she turned on him with both barrels fully loaded. "What the hell do you think you're doing? Are you fucking insane?"

He shrugged lightly, knowing that there was no right answer to that question. "Possibly."
And, seriously, the sweet tooth. lol He was in a bit of hot water over something and she'd cut him off from sweets...
"...from what I hear from my crew, everyone in town loves the new bakery. Hell, almost every one of my guys stops in your store each morning before coming to work."

Leah's chest visibly swelled with pride. "Really?"

"Yes, really. Some of them have even been late because the lines have been so long. You're slammed every morning and I'm constantly threatening to fire my guys unless they bring me a chocolate topped doughnut."

"Oh, stop it." She rolled her eyes. "Even you wouldn't do something that sadistic for sweets."

"Wanna bet? I had three of them just this morning, and it wasn't because I paid for a single one." He grinned, quite proud of himself for coming up with the strategy.

She glared at him. "Oh, hell. Now I'm feeding you without even realizing it?"

"Well, I had to do something to satisfy my sweet tooth. I would have raided your walk-in cooler last night, but someone wouldn't open the door or answer their phone."

Size Matters was my first from Alison Bliss and, yall, it so won't be my last. I couldn't put this book down! It was the perfect combination of hilarious, heartbreaking and toe curling sexy.

Okay, so, Sam. Sam has a tendency to speak before thinking and in a total hero move of defending Leah he manages to tell her mother that he and Leah are...engaged. Problem is they've only just met and she's all 'what the hell, dude?' because, seriously, what the hell, dude? Only way they can figure to safe face and not embarrass Leah completely? Get her family to hate him. Ergs. Yeah. Crazy hilarity ensues.

I really fell for both Sam and Leah. They were a bit of a disaster but kinda a perfect one? She's sweet, gentle, a baking diva and dealing with insecurities about her extra curves. He's got a some alpha male yumminess in him, is good with his hands and loves her sweets--of every varieties. They were a fun pair and woo the sexy bits. Goodness. Yeah. When these two can get on the same page they heat things up and leave a girl panting for more. Noms!

Bliss has a great sense of humor and some of the things her characters said or did just killed me. I went into hysterical giggles at one point and got funny looks from the cats. Had to put the book down because every time I tried to keep reading I'd burst into laughter again and ended up crying I was laughing so hard. It was fantastic.

Now, there were some serious bits, too. Leah struggles with being plus sized and years of enduring subtle--and not so subtle--criticism from her ex-boyfriend and from her mother. I really hurt for Leah and understood some of her insecurities. Got her hurt feelings and how those subtle jabs can do a good bit of damage. I liked how it was handled, though, and how much Sam loved her curves and stood up for her.

All in all, I had a damn good time with Size Matters. I'm excited for more from Bliss. If book two is even half as good as this one it'll be a blast.

Leah Martin has spent her life trying to avoid temptation. But she's sick of low-fat snacks, counting calories, and her hyper-critical mom. Fortunately, her popular new bakery keeps her good and distracted. But there aren't enough éclairs in the world to distract Leah from the hotness that is Sam Cooper - or the fact that he just told her mother that they're engaged . . . which is a big, fat lie.

Sam sometime speaks before he thinks. So what started out as defending Leah's date-ability to her judgmental mother soon turned into having a fiancee! Now the plan is to keep up the fake engagement, stay "just friends," and make Leah's family loathe him enough to just call the whole thing off . But Sam has an insatiable sweet tooth, not only for Leah's decadent desserts but her decadent curves. Her full lips. Her bright green eyes. Yep, things aren't going quite according to plan. Now Sam has to convince Leah that he's for real . . . before their little lie turns into one big, sweet disaster.
