Spooky Foods! (A to Z)

Ghostly Shepherd's Pie

A few years back I closed up shop and headed back home to Florida to help care for my granddad. They needed a good dose of fun and entertainment in their lives and I was so up for the job.

So we celebrated. And I mean we celebrated everything

My grandmom and granddad

Did all the big holidays, the little holidays, Fridays, birthdays.

If I could come up with an event we could celebrate we did it up.
Theme meals, decorations, dying Easter eggs, ate silly foods and set off fireworks.

We always invited a bunch of people to join in. Family, neighbors that are pretty much family, caretakers, nurses.

It was the first time I'd cooked for more than just a couple people and I really loved the whole process.

From coming up with fun/goofy ideas to shopping and cooping everything to just spending time with my mom and grandparents.

One of my favorites was Halloween.

We colored on the paper table cloth, ate spooky foods. Dyed the dressing bright blue and purple.

Was a great time and a wonderful memory. I'm so glad we could take a little time out to just be a bit goofy and do something silly.

  1. I love spooky food! We make graveyards at Halloween. Just like worms in dirt. So much fun!

  2. I LOVE the ghostly shepherds pie!!! I'm so going to steal that idea. Possibly the others. A couple of years ago I made a smoking cauldron of root beer for Halloween. Very fun.

  3. OH we love Halloween around our house! My daughter was born 10 ten days before the big day and considers it her personal holiday! How wonderful you got to spend valuable and enriching time with your Granddad. I've always thought of time spend with mine was a gift.

  4. Wow! Those are some really creative ideas. I'll definitely try the graveyard brownie theme at some point. Love them!
