One King's Way by Samantha Young & Ex-Con by Shiloh Walker/MS Parker

One King's Way (On Dublin Street #6.5)
by Samantha Young

Oh I do love Young and her men. One King's Way was a fun time as Craig --who is a total flirt and thinks one night stands are the perfect length for a relationship--gets knocked on his ass when a stunning women rocking 40s pin up girl style saunters into his bar and has him thinking maybe, just maybe he's ready to be a one-woman man. Too bad she's only there to get revenge on her sister's ex and isn't one bit wowed by his flirty ways.

I had a good time with Craig. He says what he thinks and is a realist. Just the perfect amount of cocky and sexy. He loves his mama and sisters in the sweetest way and had me smiling often. He's really a great guy when you look past the play boy surface. Rain was a nice heroine as well even if a bit stubborn and overly romantic.

There was some delicious make-your-breath-catch heat as they get to know each other and some really sweet moments as he starts changing his ways and wooing her. I'd totally be up for some Craig wooing. Mmmhmm I sure would.

I did have some issues towards the end with Rain and how everything wrapped up. Things ended up being a little too one sided for me and while I totally believed Craig's feelings I wasn't so certain on Rain's part. She disappointed me just a little. It was still a fun read though even with a few niggles on my part. It's a quickie but overall pretty damn delicious.

**I do think this one was a bit pricey for a novella. 1.99 would have been more appropriate for length.
When he’s not working at the club, Craig Lanaghan looks out for his mother and little sisters. So when it comes to women, all he wants is a good time. But once Rain Alexander walks into his life, there’s no denying that this woman could be worth much more than a one-night stand….

Rain’s lifelong regret is having left her sister Darcy alone years ago with a guardian who turned out to be abusive. So when Darcy’s boyfriend publicly humiliates her in a cruel way, Rain’s overprotective instincts kick in and she follows him to Club 39—where she meets a guy who just might be her perfect match.

The chemistry between Rain and Craig is explosive, but Rain is out for revenge, and refuses to be sidetracked by flirtation. As things between them heat up, she’ll have to make a heartbreaking choice between giving in to the man of her dreams or putting her sister’s happiness first….

Ex-Con by MS Parker & Shiloh Walker

Oh I loved this story! An Ex-Con struggling to survive and make a new life for himself after being released from prison. A celebrity's daughter in need of extra security. A chance meeting bringing them together. An undeniable attraction. Lots of yummy tension. Whew. Parker and Walker delivered!

The quick of it is that Bobby's at rock bottom. He's struggling just to survive and without meaning to lands himself the gig of being one of Carly's bodyguards. Something that rocks his world completely as he's thrown into the life of a celebrity--the media, extravagance, threats and scrutiny.

Bobby was a great character. He's not had many good things happen in his life. He's suspicious and wary of anyone willing to take a chance on him and life's comforts and extravagance make him uncomfortable. He was an interesting character to spend time with especially since the book is told from his POV. Seeing his struggles, seeing the changes in him over time (the book takes place over a year+), finding out the truth of why he had spent time behind bars...

I really liked the heroine as well. Carly was a spot crazy there at the start but turned out to be a very lovely woman who was caring (still a spot crazy) and didn't really take no for an answer. She was a bit of a steam roller but not in a bad way and totally what Bobby needed in his life.

Overall, Ex-Con was such an intriguing read as these two fell in love, dealt with their different lots in life, with the people who surrounded them on a daily basis and with the media who's always out for blood, uicy story. A little action and danger, a little romance and lovin' and a lot of great characters. Oh yeah, Ex-Con was a good time. Parker and Walker brought something fabulous to the table. If you're looking for something a little different and unique you need to grab this one.

I was an ex-con. A convicted killer. And I knew that’s all anyone would ever see me as. At least I thought so…until I met her…

When recent parolee Bobby Cantrell loses yet another job, he resigns himself to the usual struggle of finding a place willing to take a chance on someone with his past. Then, without warning, a gorgeous blonde careens into his life and everything changes.

Carly Prince. Gorgeous. Untouchable. Everything Bobby could ever want and knows he can never have.

Except, maybe, he’s finally found someone who sees something good inside him, something even he can’t see.

What he can’t do, however, is escape from his past. A past that now threatens to destroy the new life he’s building for himself…and threatens people he’s come to care about. Can he save them, or will he have more blood on his hands?
