4 stars-- The Debutante Is Mine (Season's Original #1) by Vivienne Lorret

A light, sweet treat. The Debutante Is Mine was just an easy read with endearing characters, a race against the clock and plenty of heart as Lilah sets out to turn herself from wallflower to Season's Original...the debutante everyone wants to be.

Okay so the quick of it is that Lilah's father was an asshole and wrote into his will that she'd have to marry her vile cousin if she didn't land herself a titled gentleman within 3 Seasons. And the clock is ticking! Problem is...men just don't see her or even remember her name. A devil of a problem for sure. Even worse...the one man that does remember her name pushes her buttons something fierce, isn't marriage material and doesn't even like the gentry. Yeah. It's going to be quite the month. lol

This was a pretty fun read. I had a good time with Lilah and Jack. Seeing her find her own and becoming more and more vibrant as she found her place and confidence. She was sweet and just likable. And Jack. Well it was rather entertaining watching him grudgingly becoming a part of Society all because he promised a friend he would deliver flowers to Lilah and then just couldn't seem to keep himself away from her. He kind of reminded me of when the hero is American and facing the ton and think all their properness is rather ridiculous. Definitely made for some choice moments.
"I should not kiss you," he said on a growl as he kissed her again. His tongue slipped between her lips, gliding over the sensitive inner flesh, tracing the ridge of her teeth, brushing against her tongue.

She broke away on a gasp, unsure, panting for breath, wondering if he'd meant to do that, wondering if she was supposed to allow such an intimacy. "You are teaching me...about passion. Therefore...a kiss is completely acceptable."

"Mmm...irrefutable logic," he said, nuzzling the corner of her mouth.
I enjoyed them together, too. They fed off one another nicely. Had that instant chemistry and attraction but oh they had some fiery barbs between them too. It's lite on the actual heat since they spent most of the book trying to catch her another man but there was a little towards the end once they figured everything out that was very nice.

Some fun secondary characters and a little action and tension because of her villainous cousin rounded it all out in a very nice way.

All in all, The Debutante Is Mine was a fun time. Charming and sweet! Always nice seeing the ton taken by surprise and seeing Lilah and Jack find a little romance where they least expected left me smiling. I'm definitely curious about his friends now and seeing them meet their matches.
Lilah Appleton’s prospects are looking dim. With one last chance to find a titled husband before she’s forced to wed her wretched cousin, she must make this Season count. Plain, forgettable Lilah must become the Season’s Original. Desperate, she seeks help from the devilishly charming, untitled, and thoroughly unsuitable Jack Marlowe. All she must do now is resist the tempting rogue…

Bastard son and self-made man, Jack Marlowe loathes the aristocracy. When he meets Lilah, he expects her to be like all the other greedy husband-hunters. But she’s far more dangerous. Her alluring smiles and sharp tongue intrigue him. Before he knows it, he agrees to help her find a husband, revealing tricks to ensnare any man. The only problem is, his plan works too well—on him.

When Lilah becomes the belle of the ball, Jack realizes he may lose her forever—unless he can take a chance on love and claim his debutante...
