Quote-tastic/Review-- Wild Zone (Rough Riders Hockey #4) by Skye Jordan

A very short quote today. Not even really a quote but a line. Some times the perfect little zing or thought just tickles me and that was so the case here.

Tate Donovan had just fucked the living stuffing out of her.
I don't know what but I busted out laughing and then was jealous. Ha!

Oh yeah. I was loving Wild Zone. This was my first time reading from the Rough Riders series and I'm totally hooked! I can't wait to get back to book one and meet all the guys on the team. Love when I get that feeling.

Okay so the quick and dirty is that Tate's friend is getting married and he's the best man. He's off women but the caterer's sister has totally caught his eye. Troublesome since he'll have to be working with her on a couple things the next spell. And her life...not so simple at the moment either.

So. Why was it great? Yummy hero-- he's broody and charismatic and all kinds of hunky. Awesome heroine--she knows what she wants, is a talented chef, and has a kind heart. Scorching hot chemistry and luscious sex scenes--seriously...omg. I'm a jealous bitch. lol And food. Delicious food. Noms times ten. lol Yes, I love when a character is a foodie-type so a heroine who's a chef was right up my ally. I read this one in just a couple sittings (darn having to be an adult and actually work) and had a blast with it.

There was a little drama with her family. Her mom and sister about tested my last nerve. They run a catering business that they've way overextended and instead of actually listening to Olivia who knows the ins and outs of the foodie world and has experience they just keep doing what they want and digging the whole deeper while using her cooking talents. I was feeling stabby, yall.

My only complaints were that she let her mom/sister off WAY too easily and then there were some pretty glaring errors even in the final copy--hero being called the wrong name a couple times and a scene where they've gotten in bed after a shower and then suddenly he's washing her hair and turning off the shower they've already been out of for a while.  So that was unfortunate and what took this down to a 3.5 for me.

But overall? Yummy sporty goodness!

Tate “The Saint” Donovan's jaded outlook really makes him more of a devil's advocate. Ever since he discovered his ex-wife doing more in their bedroom than rooting for the home team, he’s given up on finding The One. In fact, he's given up on finding Any One. So he isn't surprised when his teammate’s engagement party is one mishap away from going up in flames—until a sexy, free spirit whisks in from Paris and drags the party from the fire. She’s whimsical, wild, and oh so wrong, but her breezy, freestyle attitude makes her utterly irresistible. Tate’s halo slips. He takes a walk on the wild side. And discovers wrong has never felt so right.

With big plans on the horizon, Olivia’s laissez faire attitude toward men is a perfect pairing. She’s drawn to Tate’s wounded soul, and the protective warrior beneath his brooding mask intrigues her…right into bed. Olivia quickly realizes the possessive passion he brings to the bedroom is like nothing she’s ever experienced, and her feelings for Tate turns her take-it-or-leave-it style love life on its head.

With her return to Paris imminent and his grueling hockey season approaching, Olivia and Tate must face the possibility that they are destined to be nothing more than star-crossed lovers.
