#AFTH2015 w/ Emma Chase---The herd pups..they're ridiculously cute!

Yall today we've got Emma Chase joining us. If you've not read her...gah! you must! I was SO late to the game but finally was able to read her earlier this year and was totally blown away. Utterly heartwarming, sexy, and hilarious! It was such a good time and told from the hero's POV which was different and perfect.

She's gonna hang with yall for a while today so give her a nice welcome and hit those comments! ~anna

For the last several years, on Christmas Eve, there’s a 24-hour marathon showing of  “A Christmas Story.” We always turn it on because, for my family, that movie never gets old. And every year, when the Bumpus’ hound dogs decimate Ralphie’s mother’s turkey – I laugh. I laugh because, if I’m not careful, our dogs would happily do the exact same thing. They’re trained not to steal food – they definitely know better. But, like naughty children who swipe a cookie from the jar – sometimes they just can’t help themselves.

Though they’re the same breed (Brittany Spaniels) and both very smart, our pups have sharply different personalities. Max (right) is older – calmer – gentler. He’s our cuddler, our deep thinker. He’s the one who puts his head in your lap when you’re having a bad day and looks up at you with those soulful eyes that say, everything is going to be all right. Jake is younger – more playful – mischievous and rambunctious. He’s our bull in the china closet - all energy, all the time. He’ll take the shoe right off your foot, just so you have to chase him for it – and you can’t help but smile while you do.

Our dogs really enjoy the holidays. They like curling up under the Christmas tree, they like the treats Santa leaves for them in their stockings. But most of all, I think Max and Jake like having us all home with them – so they can play and cuddle and just be with us - all day long. We really like that part too.

Hope you, your families and pets are having a wonderful holiday season and have a bright, happy New Year!

A defense attorney that doesn't like complications. A heroine with....six kids.
One Direction, Mommy & Me, dealing with principals and a large brood? #LordHelpHim

When you’re a defense attorney in Washington, DC, you see firsthand how hard life can be, and that sometimes the only way to survive is to be harder. I, Jake Becker, have a reputation for being cold, callous, and intimidating—and that suits me just fine. In fact, it’s necessary when I’m breaking down a witness on the stand.

Complications don’t work for me—I’m a “need-to-know” type of man. If you’re my client, tell me the basic facts. If you’re my date, stick to what will turn you on. I’m not a therapist or Prince Charming—and I don’t pretend to be.

Then Chelsea McQuaid and her six orphaned nieces and nephews came along and complicated the ever-loving hell out of my life. Now I'm going to Mommy & Me classes, One Direction concerts, the emergency room, and arguing cases in the principal's office.

Chelsea’s too sweet, too innocent, and too gorgeous for her own good. She tries to be tough, but she’s not. She needs someone to help her, defend her…and the kids.

And that — that, I know how to do.

By day, Emma Chase is a devoted wife and mother who resides in a small town in New Jersey. By night she is a keyboard crusader, toiling away the hours to bring her colorful characters and their endless antics to life. She has a long standing love/hate relationship with caffeine.
Emma is an avid reader. Before her children were born she was known to consume whole books in a single day. Writing has also always been a passion and with the 2013 release of her debut romantic comedy, Tangled, the ability to now call herself an author is nothing less than a dream come true.
