Interview w/ Lauren Layne--sweet tea, cops & boring socks?! *raises eyebrow*

Hey guys! Lauren Layne is dropping in for a chat today. I love her books. The Best Mistake series is to die for. Anywho. She's here today to talk about her newest series :) Yall check it out and leave her some comment love :) ~anna

Hullo, Lauren!! So great to have ya joining us today for a little chat on Frisk Me. It's crazy hot here in NC so I thought ice tea out on the deck might be nice. So, come on back. How goes it?

*pours some tea & passes around the watermelon* If you had 10 seconds to hook someone what would you tell them about this duo and their book?
Hi!!! Oh man, WATERMELON! Oh, and the book in 10 seconds: Blisteringly hot sexual tension between two people that have absolutely nothing in common except their scorching chemistry. Fireworks commence.
Fireworks can definitely be interesting. heh Can you tell us 3 fun/sexy/quirky/etc behind the scenes facts about Frisk Me?
(1) Luc’s name was originally Joe.
(2) Ava was originally conceived more as a nosy Lois Lane newspaper reporter.
(3) Frisk Me is my favorite title for a book EVER.
It's a freaking awesome title. Hands down best make you swoon, gigglesnort or sigh in girly bliss quote from the book?
“So,” he said, voice rough. “I’m assuming based on the fact that you’re not slapping me or walking away that I’ve at least got a chance, but help a guy out here.”

His hands moved down to her back, clutching at her, maybe just a little desperately. He couldn’t help it. She mattered too much. Please love me back.
*sigh* I just loved him. Ava, on the other hand, seemed a bit resistant to the charms of Luc...what's one thing that had her finally going 'ahhh, okay, dammit! he is a tasty man treat'?
I don’t know that Ava herself knows the precise moment where she caved to Luc, but I, the evil author, do! It’s when she sees him with his family. She’s managed to convince herself that he’s this glory-seeking diva, but when she sees the Morettis together, I think she starts to understand that he’s the real deal — he’s one of the good ones.
I LOVED his family. Can't wait for more of them :) So, what's one hobby they each love to spend time on?
Ava would claim that she loves to read literature, but really she’s a sucker for The Bachelor. And Luc’s pretty “classic dude”—give him a beer and a game and he’s in heaven.
Gotta love those classics :D Now, if you had an entire 24 hours to spend with Ava and Luc what would yall get up to?
Um, well first I’d get rid of Ava so I could get my hands on Luc?! I kid. I love Ava. I’d totally make them take me to that sexy Italian place where they go on their first date-non-date. We’d drink wine and I’d ask Ava how she gets her ponytail so perfect, and I’d ask Luc if I could lick his abs later.
Um. Yeah. I'm up for that last little bit. Man-sicles for the win! lol

And speaking of tasty lickable men...Favorite Man Candy?
My obsession with Colin Egglesfield remains strong and pure.
Best "burning soup" moment? aka cooking disaster
My husband is really the head chef in our family. I’m the assistant. Or sous chef, if you want to get fancy. As far as disasters, we set the smoke detector off at least twice a week, almost always while roasting vegetables in the oven. It’s like our thing. The smoke detector in our apartment building involves the usual loud noise, plus this lady’s voice saying, “Fire.Fire.Fire” in this creepy monotone voice. So now we randomly say, “Fire.Fire.Fire” to each other. It’s romantic. Or something.
LOL oh that's too funny. Plain socks or totally wacky?
Plain socks dominate my drawer right now, but I suppose I’m not opposed to whacky … (*starts to doubt self. wonders if self is incredibly boring*)
<um, no comment lol> What's for dinner?
Flank steak and broccoli.
I'm completely obsessed with?
Kate Spade.
Favorite thing in your house (other than humans or herd babes)?
My new wine rack.
Nice! And before you head out...what's up next for you?
I have a NA novel called Blurred Lines out at the end of August—it’s a friends-to-lovers story with a TON of banter and laughs. It’s just pure fun, and a great summer read :-)
Oh man! I am so excited about that one. Love those friends-to-lovers set ups. Thanks so much for dropping in, Lauren! Hope you have a great one!
Thanks so much for having me!!! (Can I have the watermelon now?)

Officer Luc Moretti had no idea that his dive into the East River would have him drowning in a media frenzy. No matter how many times he tells reporters he was just doing his job, they're determined to make him into NYC's newest hero. Coming from a long line of NYPD's finest, Luc knows that being a cop has nothing to do with headlines and viral videos, and he's more than ready to get back to life away from the cameras—until he meets the gorgeous but jaded journalist assigned to film a TV special on him.

Ava Sims may be the only woman in NYC who isn't in love with Officer Moretti. That's why she's going after the real story—to find out about the man behind the badge. Ava's determined to keep things strictly professional, but the more time she spends around Luc, even she has to admit there's something about a man in uniform . . . and she can't wait to get him out of his.

Prior to becoming an author, Lauren worked in e-commerce and web-marketing. In 2011, she and her husband moved from Seattle to New York City, where Lauren decided to pursue a full-time writing career. It took six months to get her first book deal (despite ardent assurances to her husband that it would only take three). Since then, Lauren's gone on to publish ten books, including the bestselling Stiletto series, with several more on the way in 2015.

Lauren currently lives in Chicago with her husband and spoiled Pomeranian. When not writing, you'll find her at happy hour, running at a doggedly slow pace, or trying to straighten her naturally curly hair.

Alright, guys! Have a question for Lauren?
