4 Stars--Wolf Trouble (SWAT #2) by Paige Tyler

Aw, yay! Do you see the happy smile? Because there's totally a happy smile happening here, people! Wolf Trouble was just one of those easy reads. You know, the ones where you're reading along and look up and realize holy cow I'm already 50% through! and it just feels like no time at all has passed because you're totally into it and the characters and cruising along having a great time with them. I love that feeling!

The quick of it is that the SWAT team is being forced to add to it's ranks to keep the city's higher ups happy. They want a woman added to the all male team to head off any potential discrimination lawsuits. And the guys...aren't so happy. It's a bit of an issue since this team? Is made up of werewolves and what the devil are they going to do with having a female human on the team who could out their unique situation, ya know? Anywho. A woman they need...and a woman they're gonna get in the form of a female cop desperate to start over in a new city after her unit turned their backs on her.

So...Kakhi (weird name, right) and Xander...I really enjoyed them to bits. I was pretty nervous going into this one over the heroine. If you were around earlier this year when I read book one you may remember the heroine of that book turned me into #RantyAnna and I was livid over her for days. DAYS. I still am rather pissed over her and it's been like, 7 months. lol So I was nervous. But Kakhi totally ruled as a heroine. She's smart, dedicated, incredibly determined to hold her own and be a part of this team. I just loved her spirit as she came into this incredibly intimidating situation and was faced with becoming part of a 16 male alpha werewolf team and with being a new werewolf. I could see hanging out with her no question. And Xander. Damn sexy man who was slow on the uptake when it came to Kakhi and got himself all good and grumbly over her as he tried to resist. He was great too.

The romance was a bit slow going--not really starting until about halfway through--but I liked it. Kakhi needed to get settled and it was fun watching them both being utterly tortured by their attractions and trying to resist the pouncing and lickage of each other. Once they finally gave in...lots of furniture destruction as they got all hot and dirty together. It was lovely. Heh
Mac sighed. "I never get tired of watching sweaty, muscular men playing around in the sand."

Khaki couldn't agree more. She'd played a few games, but decided it was much more fun to watch sixteen shirtless men run around in the sand as they spiked the ball than it was to participate.
The SWAT team is one of my favorite things. There are a LOT of men (16 total) and they play a great support cast. There's a lot of time spent as a team training and getting to know Kakhi and I really loved all of that time and seeing the inner workings of SWAT as they prepare and get Kakhi qualified for duty. You just can't help but like these guys. There was a little suspense and danger as they were called out to a series of bank robberies and some moments that got my palms a little tingly. It wasn't anything too over the top suspenseful though but that was fine with me.

I really had nothing to complain about with this one. My only issue came in because of another blogger on Goodreads. I went in to update my reading progress and they were posting a quickie recap at the same time and it popped onto my screen when I was around the 75% mark. Not the book or authors fault at all and though their note wasn't entirely spoilery it was enough for me to be reading and go 'oh that's what they were talking about :/' I would have figured it all out on my own but because I had that big flashing this is what's gonna happen it wasn't quite as eventful in the end when parts of the suspense were put into motion. So a bit of a let down on that front but I still enjoyed the story of it.

All in all, Tyler had me smiling like crazy and enjoying the heck out of this sexy SWAT team. The romance, the hero and heroine, the team as a whole, seeing them all train and bond as Khaki joins their ranks, the danger of the job. It was all...just fun, entertaining and impossible to resist. Especially when the guys ditch their shirts and get all sweaty. *noms* I'm really excited to see what'll happen next with this team. And, just gotta add, look at those freaking covers! So damn good!

Do you have a favorite read from Tyler?
Have you ever read about a female police officer/SWAT member?
Or a heroine in a mainly male dominated profession?
Have any series that just have an amazing support cast?
There's never been a female on the Dallas SWAT team and Senior Corporal Xander Riggs prefers it that way. The elite pack of alpha male wolfshifters is no place for a woman. But Khaki Blake is no ordinary woman.

When Khaki walks through the door attractive as hell and smelling like heaven, Xander doesn't know what the heck to do. Worse, she's put under his command and Xander's protective instincts go on high alert. When things start heating up both on and off the clock, it's almost impossible to keep their heads in the game and their hands off each other...
