Interview w/ Jennifer Faye-- Princes, Santa, Needlepoints & Tudors!

A royal kiss under the mistletoe

Prince Alexandro Castanovo arrives in snowy New York intent on protecting his royal family from scandal. And when Reese Harding—down-to-earth and heart-stoppingly beautiful—finds room for him at her inn, it seems like the perfect twist of fate.

Not long ago Reese's world came crumbling down, shaking her foundations. But this enigmatic stranger intrigues her! She's learned to be wary of secrets…but when she discovers Alex's true identity, might there be enough magic in the air to make this regular American girl a princess by Christmas…?

Morning Jennifer! Come in come in. It's so chilly out these days I thought some hot tea and cookies would hit the spot while we chat a little about your newest release! *passes the cookies* I can't wait to hear what these two are getting up to!
Hi. *scarfs up one cookie and then can’t resist taking another* How’d you know cookies and tea are my favorites? *adds a little sweetener and milk to the black tea and takes a long yummy sip* Delicious. *smiles* I’m so happy to be here and to be able to share my new release with you. Thanks so much for the invite. :-)
I'm so glad you could come by too! It's always lovely having ya stop by. *fluffs some pillows and gets comfy* Alright now. If you had 10 seconds to hook someone what would you tell them about A Princess by Christmas?
Take an ordinary girl and drop her in the middle of extraordinary circumstances add in a dashing prince, a sprig of mistletoe and a sun-drenched Mediterranean island and you’ve got a holiday romance that isn’t your typical holiday romance.
*mouth drops open* Can I, um, trade places with her? That sounds fabulous! Can you tell us 3 fun/sexy/etc behind the scenes facts about Reese, her Prince and their story? *waggles eyebrows*
  • To Reese’s surprise Prince Alex is actually a very sexy fix-it guy.
  • Their first unofficial date includes a visit with Santa—sort of, kind of. LOL.
  • Prince Alex owns a very private, very scenic, very romantic beach house. ;-)
Oh yeah that would do it. A romantic private beach house? I'm in! And Santa? Hmmms... Best make a girl swoon things about Prince Alexandro?
  • He’s very good with his hands *hallelujah!*
  • He’s tall, dark, and incredibly handsome.
  • He oversees a set of Mediterranean islands
  • He’s sweet and thoughtful.
*nods* yeah. Yeah I think Prince Alexandro is gonna do it for me. *sighs in girly bliss* Now, what about Reese? Any "oh I'd totally want to be her friend" things about her?
She’s seen both sides of life—the have’s and the have-not’s. So she knows what it’s like to lose most everything and can sympathize with others in similar situations.
She isn’t a quitter. She faces adversity and keeps on fighting to make things right for those she loves.
She really cares about the people around her. They are her family and it has nothing to do with bloodlines, it has to do with love.
Oh that's my kinda girl! What would be the perfect "that's SO them" date night for these two?
A moonlit dinner on the terrace of Alex’s beach house complete with sparkling wine and candles followed by a hand-in-hand stroll along the pristine beach as the moonlight reflects off the sea.
Well now. That would do it for me too I think. lol How romantic! Now, I saw you're a bit of a crafter! What all do you get up to crafting wise? Any pics you'd like to share?
I love to work with my hands—when I have time away from my keyboard. One of my favorite things to do is needlework. I have wall-hangings and pillows I’ve made scattered around my house. Here are a few photos.
Oh I love them! How festive :) I love needlework too but don't get to do it nearly often enough. The herd babes. Whew. Yeah the current herd babes are not needlework friendly. lol Alright hows about a couple quickies!

Favorite Man Candy? Pictures are welcome!
Oh that’s sooo easy…Henry Cavill (Charles Brandon, Duke of Suffolk)
Weirdest thing in your purse right now?
I have to look. Hang on. And the winner would be a Quilt Club card. Hmm…I didn’t even know I had it—now I want to go shopping for colorful cloth and start a quilt. But…that will have to wait. I must write! Deadlines. ;-)
LOL I'm having that with review writing. So many pretties at the craft store wanting to distract me. lol Best "burning soup" moment? aka cooking disaster :D
I can’t honestly remember ever burning anything on the stovetop. *knock on wood* However, the same can’t be said for my microwave. Yep, you read that right, I failed cooking with the microwave. *head desk* You see, I had an appointment that day and I wanted to drop a birthday package off at UPS for my daughter. So I tossed a Lean Cuisine in the microwave to gobble down before rushing out the door. While it cooked, I went to finish boxing up my daughter’s birthday gifts, which included homemade giant chocolate chip cookies. Yum!
Anyway the packaging took longer than planned. After all, the cookies needed extra padding so they wouldn’t become cookie crumbs in shipping. The next thing I know the fire alarm is blaring. I rush to the kitchen which is now billowing in a very foul, very heavy smoke. Meanwhile the microwave is still humming along even though I’m pretty certain my lunch was on fire. It was hard to tell because I was coughing, my eyes were watering and did I mention all of the smoke??? Eventually I got the smoking, charred remains of my lunch outside. The whole house had to aired out as in fans all running and every window opened. With a little assist from my family, I made it to my appointment and UPS.
P.S. the cookies arrived in one piece. ;-) The microwave well…it wasn’t quite the same after that incident. LOL.
Bwaha oh that is...yeah that's an excellent burning soup moment. ::snort::

I'm completely obsessed with?
The Tudors. I must admit that I like to watch it each winter. It totally fascinates me that people actually lived like that and made such shocking decisions.
Hmms! I might need to check that out. Funniest/naughtiest thing your herd babes have done?
My oldest furbaby is the most curious creature. When they coined the phrase cats have nine lives, they must have been talking about her. She was a tiny furball, about 4 weeks old, when I rescued her from the middle of a country road. Once she was nursed back to health, she was into everything…including jumping and landing in a flushing toilet. *shakes head* Talk about a swirly. Yikes! Needless to say going from the toilet directly to the tub for a bubbly cured of her of that curiosity. Thanks goodness!!! LOL.
::snort:: I have SO had to do the kitten toilet to tub bath. I had a litter of sisters and one jumped in and while I fished her out before I could close it the other sister jumped in. Had 3 very wet and ticked off kittens by the end of it. Bless them. lol Alright before you head out...what's up next for you?
My next Harlequin release will by a duet – The DeFiore Brothers. The releases will be back-to-back, March and April. The first takes place in Rome. *happy, romantic sigh* and the second book is set on an Italian vineyard. These books were wonderful to research and write. I hope others will enjoy these books too.
In addition, I’m working on two very special projects that I’m SUPER excited about and I hope my readers will be too. I’m not quite ready to share details. But I will. Soon. If you’re curious, sign up for my newsletter. My amazing subscribers will be the first to hear and they also have access to newsletter only giveaways.
Oh yay! Can't wait to see what they're all about! Thanks so much for coming by Jennifer! It was lovely visiting with you!
Thank you for having me. I have a wonderful time and hope to visit again.
