Ahhh so today...Reaper's Stand. I am freaking loving this series. It's a MC series and gets a bit gritty but is just so so good. Anyways. This is the hero and heroine before they've gotten together. They both want each other but haven't gone there yet and she's just walked in on him having a go with one of the ladies at the club...
"Miss Miata is still in the bedroom," I said tightly. "Better back off or she'll see you. Then you'll be in trouble."

He laughed without pulling back.

"Miss Miata?" he asked. "Now that's a new name for her. At the clubhouse, we call her--"

"If you say something nasty I'm going to kick you," I snapped. "Is it really worth it?"

"Define 'nasty.'"

"Anything less than complimentary about the woman you just had sex with," I told him. "Because it sounded like you were going to insult her. Just remember, anything she did, you participated in. You're equally guilty."

He gave a low laugh.

"At the clubhouse we call her Sharon," he said softly. "Which I've never considered an insult, especially given that she's named after her grandmother. But you feel free to interpret it any way you like."

I closed my eyes and counted to five.
And one by one of the club ladies that just made me snort. Words to live by for sure ;)
"Drink up, bitches! If God wanted us sober, he wouldn't have made shot glasses so cute!"
Gah. Okay. One more.
"You aren't sticking your..." I clenched my teeth, because I didn't let myself use words like that. I wouldn't let him win by tempting me to, either.

"Cock," he said, relishing the word. "I want to stick my cock into your pussy. Don't worry--I'll get you nice and ready first. Open you up with my fingers, make sure you're so wet and hot that when you wrap around me, it'll feel like I'm fucking a goddess because you're goddamn perfect, London. I can't wait to feel your cunt squeezing me. Lick your clit, taste you...It'll be good between us. You know it will."

My knees weakened--like, weakened for real. Not just a figure of speech. I literally wanted Reese Hayes inside me so bad I had trouble supporting my own weight.

Emerarg! Damn but Wylde can write! *rubs hands together* Reaper's Stand...was so one of those books that just made me giddy. Even on the second read I was all over these two. It was a non stop ride from page one and I flipping loved every second of it as badass biker President Reese--who is completely obsessed with his cleaning lady-- and London--said cleaning lady-- try to get over the fact that, you know, she tried to shoot his ass. *pffft* No biggie. ::snort::

The quick of it is that London and Reese have been sniffing around each other for months. They pretty much torture each other just by breathing because no way is she getting involved with a dangerous criminal--who is her boss--and no way is he going after an innocent that's not in the lifestyle no matter how bad he wants inside her. But life has different plans *bwahaha* and her bratty niece manages to land London even closer to Reese as she's forced to pay off a debt now owed by cleaning his home. And, well, even more lust denied torture commences. And it is excellent.

Now London and Reese. Ohmigod. I adored these two. First they're both older characters which I love--they've lived full lives, made hard decisions and are solid in who and what they do. They were just great characters with some seriously fantastic chemistry--ass shooting aside--and could heat each other up something fierce. And battle it out. Whew. Yes, there is a lot of tension between these two. He really needed someone who would stand up to him and London and her tiny self wasn't one bit shy about letting him and his manwhore ways have it. And Reese pushed her just far enough out of her comfort zone to really make her live again. There were some damn funny moments between them as they settled in to getting to know each other and some omg nail biting ones as well once club business sneaks in laying a hefty wallop of danger on them. They don't have the most traditional of romances but it's sexy, a bit edgy and even a little heartwarming now and again as they find a spot of happiness together and deal with what life's thrown at them.

There's a good bit of club action that goes along with the romance. Cartels moving in, betrayals, violence. It definitely keeps things pumping *cue the aforementioned ass shooting and it's reasonings* and made for an exciting addition to Reese and London's story. A couple frustrating spots where I just wanted to shake a person about and tell them to TALK but that's how things go and in the end it made for a damn fine read. The club itself played a good part as well. I really love the guys and their women. Seeing how close they all are and what they're willing to do to keep their "family" safe. I definitely have a few of the guys I'm dying to know more about.

All in all, Reaper's Stand pretty much had it all. Scorching romance, danger, intrigue, betrayals and shocking surprises. Lust, love, twisted romance. Heartbreaking moments that had me near tears and humor that had me gigglesnorting to balance it out. Without a doubt Wylde is quickly becoming a master of the genre and is one to keep an eye on. For those that love romances with an edge...she shouldn't be missed.
