Take Me, Break Me (Pierced Hearts #1) by Cari Silverwood

Jodie is scraping the barrel trying to stay afloat. An idea arrives that could rescue her finances and bring her together in a kinky way with a man she never gave up on. She's terrified and fascinated, and tempted as hell.

Capture fantasies rule her eBook. Re-enacting one in a documentary would surely be irresistible viewing to millions of women?

But Jodie and Klaus discover that underneath an ordinary man dark desires may lurk. What will win in the end? The man and lover, or the monster?

Warning: Capture fantasy; dubious consent; anal play; M/f as well as one m/f/f/m scene; BDSM themes including caning, spanking, bondage, and needle play. Also contains one beginner Dom who is exploring sadism but is still working out how and when to stop.

Type: Dark Romance/Erotica-BDSM
Heat: 4.5 out of 5--Pretty much everything goes

Imma just start out this one by saying there are some things that should never, ever, never meet. Nipples and needles. Hell fucking yeah. That's at the top of my damn list. *nods* Ho geez. But the rest of the book? Loves! Take Me, Break Me was full of all kinds of delicious mind fuckery as Jodie's carefully planned out month long capture fantasy goes dark and twisty and the gentle man she asked to help her realizes he's got a bit of an inner sadist inside him that really wants to come out and play.

Okay, where to start. Where to start. Safe, sane and consensual. Yeah. Klaus and Jodie kinda play fast and loose with that one. While they've known each other for years--and used to be a couple--neither really has a clue what they're doing when it comes to BDSM, dominance and slavery. Oh the way they jumped into it definitely had a girl fighting the urge to yell those three words over and over again. lol There's some seriously borderline crazy stuff happening that tested some of my boundaries as the two jump into the fantasy and struggle with the roles they're "playing".

Point of view switches back and forth which so worked for me. I really wanted to be in both of their heads as Klaus basically holds her captive and does whatever the hell he wants with and to Jodie. It was just fascinating seeing how the situation changed their thoughts the longer it went on. When it went from the sterile planned out experience Jodie had in mind to raw and unscripted. Seeing Jodie almost lose herself once the rules were thrown out and Klaus was really started owning her and her normal opinions morphed into something new and along the lines of what he wanted. And seeing Klaus realize he had a "darkness" in him and fighting his desires and going too far but not always being able to stop himself or even wanting to.
"Fuck. No, Klaus. Shit, shit. That hurts!

"That's the whole idea."

"No more words, Jodie. You can take it."

She gulped and nodded. Sweat beaded on her forehead.

"Good."
There are some very hot and heavy scenes. Some with multiple partners, f/f, m/f/m, anal play, bondage and gags, and ::shudder:: those damn needles being put places they damn well don't belong. While it wasn't the most extreme thing I've read on the bdsm/sexual side of things the psychological aspect of it...yeah... twistedly effing amazing.
This is not the book for everyone but if you're like me... the heat, the uncertainty, the total head fuck that came with the tables being turned on Jodie and never really knowing if what was happening was play or real...was pretty damn exciting and left me ready for more. Take Me, Break Me was edgy, dark and intense...it's definitely one to try if you're feeling a little daring.
